    I love that they finally changed where the buttons are on the actual machine with the plus. We have used ours from day one with our daughter that just turned two and got our now 8 month old her own when she was born. So helpful for so many different times with a child!

    We are a bit of a Hatch family at this point. We got the Hatch Rest for our second child and loved it so much while she was sleeping in her bassinet in our room. We then got a Rest Plus for our first kid after he started having some issues with being scared of the dark. He loves his light and is amazed that it turns colors when it is time to get up. We just recently bought the new Hatch Restore for us and so far it is working out great! The sunrise alarm is surprisingly gentle and has woken us up before the actual alarm sound has had to go off. We also appreciate that the clock has the option to turn off while the Restore is in the bedtime routine.

    You are so sincere, and honest. Thank you for offering the analysis of buying the older version vs the newer version AND less pricey options for nurseries.
    You're awesome!
    And I almost didn't click bc it was only 6 mins, but it's really packed w/ info :)
    I know you're religious but it was weird to hear God bless cuz I'm not religious...oh well, that's nice of you :) Thanks dude!

    Bought the Rest Plus as soon as you reviewed the first edition, now paired with my Nest cam even! Almost cost me double the RRP though, as I had to ship it to NZ, but still totally worth it!

    Pretty cool product. We used the Sleep Sheep for sound, an IP camera for monitoring, and a salt lamp for a nightlight, so this looks like it'd be able to replace a lot of that. (New sub! Just discovered your channel and I think it's great to see other engaged dads doing their thing.)

    Bought this last December, very pleased with it so far. My only caveat is that the Alexa command takes longer than it should have to. Its is nit-picky, but would nonetheless be cool to be able to say "Alexa, turn off Rest" or "Alexa, turn off night light" or some other way that it could be customized rather than being stuck with "Alexa, tell Hatch to turn off my rest". Otherwise it is great so far!

    Thinking about using this for our room and I'm curious about the time to rise function. Is there a function where it gradually gets brighter? Or does it just automatically go to one brightness setting and whatever color you choose? Or is it only green?
    I have a pixel phone and unfortunately the gradual morning sunrise on the pixel stand has a glitch where it makes the alarms blare annoying loud generic beeping rather than a tune I select so I had to turn that off.

    My hatch plus rest touch ring doesn’t work properly. I’ve just bought 2 of them. One of them works as it should. The other one though with my phone it’s fine every feauture is working but when you touch the ring nothing happens. When you touch the brightness buttin the device resets itself. I couldn’t find anything about this issue. If some sound is already playing when you touch the ring it shuts the noice and that’s it. Touch ring doesn’t turn on or off the device. What is the problem ?

    Dang! The main thing I was gonna get the plus for (monitor while white noise is playing) you said you can’t hear well over the noise 😩 Not ideal. Could you do a short video showing how loud it is - the white noise cutting into the audio?

    I have heard there is a loud sound played when it disconnects/reconnects.. have you experienced this?? Also.. how does the sound compare to the original?

    • @dadverb
      @dadverb  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In our experience, we had a minor issue with the original Hatch where the micro-USB jack came loose and upon reconnecting, it came on super loud. Other than that, no issues. Regarding sound quality, it's identical. No noticeable improvements or upgrades.

    I’m planning to buy the Nanit for our baby. Do you think whether I should buy the Hatch rest? How do you compare the sound machine function of the Hatch and the Nanit?

    • @dadverb
      @dadverb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Hatch sound and light output is far better than Nanit's on-board options. If budget allows, Hatch is a great thing to pair it with.

  • @XXXMUXICISLIFEXXX

    The ONLY reason I considered it it's because i saw someone talk about the way she would use the hatch light on a dim red to wake up at night and breast feed without waking up her husband with brighter lights lol. But idk if I'm willing to spend $80 just for that 🙄 my husband can struggle a little. I'm the one actually having to feed baby 😂

    Can you use the hatch plus over hotspot? We use hotspot in our home not routed wifi

    • @dadverb
      @dadverb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haven't tested a hotspot but by guess is that it'd work but if you're using it for sound monitoring, there's a chance it may cut out. If not using sound monitoring, you can actually use this without wifi.

    • @carinareed8224
      @carinareed8224 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dadverb thank you! I went ahead and got it anyways and it did work on everything except the voice monitor, which is fine for our household because they sleep in our room, but it says 'in order to use the voicr monitor you have to both be connected to the same wifi and not the hotspot' unfortunately

    This product is awful. Stay away!
    When the app works, it's terrible. Setting up schedules, etc is extremely clunky and time-consuming.
    Our app has stopped working altogether. You can't set up or change schedules anymore and some just disappeared after the last update.
    Great idea, but terrible quality and support.

    Seriously this is what you call white noise? I spend time and money buying this crap and it turns out to be just a speaker with preset sounds. Anything but white noise. Folks, please stop inventing your own definition of white noise.
