I have an issue of Spiderman dated around 1991. There's an article inside that mentions James Cameron's movie, but with Michael Biehn as Spiderman/Peter parker, and also mentions the black costume instead of the Classic red and blue.

Nathan Dermond there was 2 scripts, the first one has the electro and the sandman played by lance hendrikson and Michael biehn with Mary Jane as the love interest, and the second one had Doctor Octopus played by Arnold Schwarzenegger but this one had Liz Allen as the love interest. I think Leo would fit In to the first script with the electro and sandman. And Eddie Furlong fits into the second script. But honestly I think Eddie Furlong would of been the more peter Parker type but I wouldn’t of minded which one played spidey because they would of both of been a good Spiderman.
Honestly, I would still want this to happen now! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with sex imho because it seems so.. natural kind of like the organic webs. Everything in this adaptation is an amazing work of art that I’d love to see. I mean, this spider man still wouldn’t beat Sam Raimi’s adaptation but I’m down for it

I think Cameron back then was at his peak with Terminator franchise which in itself is dark. So, his genre would of continued in his Spider-Man. But listening to you talk about his movie I can fully understand why it was binned - it is terrible lol. However, I'm glad that you mentioned Keatons Batman. The leaked script was the most amazing script I’ve ever met. If it’s the one with Carlton Strand, and sandman. It’s litterally one of the best superhero scripts ever. The way peter fights his thoughts of just giving in to becoming a criminal. I honestly think it would’ve been better than Raimis, considering raimi took certain elements, he must’ve known it too.

I’m glad we never got these films because they would’ve just been “enjoyably bad” types of movies. All the 90’s comic book movies all flawed because the people behind them don’t care that much about the material to stay true to it. They’re just toys for them to play with. Even the original Batman franchise was flawed default what films in it you love
This script actually is a comic accurate take on his origin. It really does a good job at delving into the darker parts of Peter Parker's character. I agree with you about the Burton batman films though.
