Thought Dave @EEVblog would've had one of these to review for some time already but no reviews from him. I'm on the fence whether to go for the Rigol or this Siglent one for their respective coverage of functions with least amount of bugs for a 12bit, 4 channel scope with some mixed signal and trigger capability.
...aaand?
I'm the same. Any update on that?
@@Pawel5837 If budget is your priority, the Rigol is marginally cheaper. If functionality and polished firmware are priorities, buy the Siglent.
@@tomkatt2321 I went Rigol. 12bit
Hammer time!! LLOOLL 🤩
Would this scope also be compatible with the SDG1000 series signal generators for the Bode Plot?
Apparently yes
Now your fingerprint is on that shield for all time. 😆
Thanks for the peek under her skirt.
Can you hack the 70mhz to 200 like the older variants?
I believe so yes.
idk why the pcb is not gold plated, its feel cheap for me when its not..
Gold plate adds a bit to the cost, and Siglents aim appears to be to deliver a higher spec scope at a good price point, so anything not really required is omitted to keep the cost down.
ENIG or flash gold is expensive, these instruments are low cost.
Please buy some spanners, have some mechanical sympathy 🙂
I have spanners, too lazy to get them out
Too bad it's not USB bus powered, I want an isolated scope. Rigol wins here
If you want an isolated scope then you definitely don’t want USB either, as then you risk blowing up your computer or whatever is powering the scope instead, if you want isolated then get a battery powered tablet scope like a Micsig or something.
@@TheDefpom Not really, you can power the Rigol with a powerbank, the included USB-C power supply has ground isloated from the mains. Connection to the PC is optional, and i'm sure there are USB isolators out there... DHO800/900 series is excllent as a portable self powered scope, budget priced and has much more features than most scopometers.
@@TheDefpom The flyback converter is an AC/DC converter with galvanic isolation.
@@gctechs Actually, the power consumption is high enough that many compact battery packs will be too small to be useful for any significant length of run time... Between concerns of the usb jack getting damaged from cable stress to the hassle of a power brick, I really don't see usb power offering many benefits.
