Shaquille O'Neal makes up excuses about why his Magic lost to Kenny Smith's Rockets in the 1995 NBA Finals. Both Smith & Charles Barkley call him out. Classic.
The magic weren't rusty in game. I remembered they were up like 20 points early in the second quarter, and they did not have 17 days off before the finals they had 2 days off, shaq mind is rusty and making up excuses lol.
What???? It was actually more so the other way around. The Rockets had about a week off and the Magic only had 3 days off because they got taken to 7 games by the Pacers. And they were up by 20 points to the Rockets in the first half. The only reason they almost beat the Rockets in game 1 is because the Rockets were rusty from the one week layoff.
Bruce Wayne As a magic fan it is the truth. Also, I don't think even if Anderson makes the free throws it guarantees anything more than a game one win. Lots of underdog teams have won game one and lost the next 4. 76ers took game one from the Lakers when the Lakers went 15-1 in playoffs in 2001. Even the magic in the playoffs took one from the eventual champion raptors but lost next 4 same with Indiana I think one year. Many more examples I can give can't think of off top of my head. Rockets did come back from lots of deficits that year to
Losing by two points in overtime after blowing a 20 point lead isn't rusty. Neither is missing four free throws in a row. Nor is three days between Game 7 of the Conference Finals and Game 1 of the Finals the same as 17 days off. Every single thing Shaq said was wrong
@ Jericho- They were not saying that Michael Jordan was rusty when he scored 55 points in the Graden against the Knicks just like Kenny Smith said, but only not in those exact words.
@ Kolby K- That is exactly right now please just think about this everyone, The Houston Rockets swept the team that just so happened to have beat the Chicago Bulls that year in 1995. And when I say just so happened I mean that jokingly or A.K.A. sarcastically people, And That's All Folks! [ L.O.L. ]
2 days off and after they beat the Bulls, they played the Pacers and won in 7 games. That last game was on June 4th 1995 and game 1 of the finals against the Rockets was on June 7th so they only had 2 days of rest and would not be rusty. Shaq lies so much on tnt and he thinks the average person can’t fact check his lies. 😂😂😂
Penny had an excellent series though 25.5 ppg and 8 apg. The Rockets were stretching the floor a lot which made it difficult to provide double team help usually and Shaq actually had to play defense where he was getting in foul trouble instead of just roaming around.
Shaq making excuses bottom line Houston was the better team and Hakeem outscored him every game that series...
Real talk Olajuwon was unstoppable during those years
@Aboood165 You are damn right.
@Robert Phillips-He sure did in 1997.
@Aboood165 Houston beat Chicago 5-1 from 91-93... Rockets-Bulls Finals is really a big NBA what-if
Real talk Orlando got swept
Why Kenny defer to chuck? I wanted Kenny to get him this time...
Boi quit it Hakeem was unstoppable

Im a Magic Fan and I've learned to Never Believe Shaq's Story. We Beat Indiana on Sunday and the Finals Started Wednesday.
Maybe they were actually off 1.7 days off, and Shaq multiplied it in his head by 10 🤣

Dream dominated those championship years
What an absurd lie. It’s a Shame no one called shaq out on it on the spot
Think Kenny did but held back and didn’t want to embarrass him even further.

they lost because the magic was a better team, the next year they get rodman, and Grant gets injured.
Kolby K, stats prove that Jordan was rusty. Even his opponents said he was not the same.
At least he didn't use the "I was young" excuse everyone else claims.
Shaq that's bull. Come on the better team won that year. Man up and own up to the loss.

17 days off? Lol...more like 3 days off. That's impossible lol
Shaq always making up excuses lol.
It was literally 2 days off unless he didn’t count the last series as games

Even if the Magic won Game 1, they weren't going to beat the Rockets in that Finals
