Parallel Steam Trains in Suburban Sydney! Hunter Valley Steamfest 2024 Transfers 3526 & 6029

On Friday 12th April 2024 Transport Heritage NSW transferred steam locomotives C35 3526 & AD60 6029 (Beyer-Garratt) from the NSW Rail Museum in Thrilmere to Maitland for the 2024 Hunter Valley Steamfest. The two locomotives paralleled one another between Denistone and Thornleigh in suburban Sydney, before heading up to Maitland along the Central Coast.
In this video we chase both locomotives from the trip from Thrilmere to Maitland. We start the video at Picton as 6029 leads the train with 3526 in tow on the journey towards Sydney. At Flemington the two locomotives split, forming two separate trains. 3526 picked up passengers at Concorde West before both trains made their way up to Maitland. We see the parallel run at Eastwood, before seeing both trains at multiple locations including Cowan, Ourimbah, Morriset, Victoria Street, and East Maitland.
This was my first time train chasing in New South Wales and by extension by first time driving in Sydney and lets just say it was a definite learning curve.
