I totally Agree 💯 being an outsider. Having lived in Sydney in Mosman. and also been to Perth. Melbourne is just Fantastic. The Vibe , downtown. Food, Shopping,The Victoria Central Market. as Well as the People,The Transportation and accessibility,is just amazing. Also there is alot more diversity, culturally,and lots of Art .
I mean, I visited a few times, But I had the most fun in Brisbane and Queensland in general, but I really enjoyed seeing more nature stuff in the Northern Territories. All states and town in Australia have something cool to offer when you visit. Truly one of the most unique places in the world.

Places I visited in Australia : Sydney - old-new city. good places to eat out, events ETC. Pay slightly more, houses quite expensive. Suburbs are far away. 1-2 hr commute. Weather is humid in summer. Adelaide - small city, not too busy. Not too much traffic. But weather is depressing for me. Brisbane - I considerd moving here. It's a new chic city. Got good public transport and nice outdoor puplic pools, places to eat etc. Houses are over valued and traffic can be slow at peak hours. Perth - small new city. Train ride to suburb in under 20 mins, lot of beaches and parks. Weather is hot, but not humid so you sweat less. Not a lot happening for singles, but lots of events for families. Houses affordable.
