    Thanks for posting this. I come from a bloodline of Slavic Witches but many of the women in our family have died young and have been unable to fully teach their daughters. Since the family emigrated we have no known ties in Eastern Europe. I know this video didn’t get a lot of attention necessarily, but it reached someone it needed to so thanks.

      Do men have magical or witchcraft in Slavic traditions? I notice you only talked about the women. That seems to be common in Old World European traditions I could be wrong though.

    The western perception of karma is completely wrong. Karma is a concept in Hinduism that has little to do with "crime and punishment" and more to do with lifetime debt in reincarnation. Not a Christian concept at all.

    I would like podcasts on necromancy and why it's not evil and what we truly used it's magic for and talk about blood magic and bone as well as soul and shadow magic. I am from the USA, and as a practicing necromancer, it's very difficult for me here because so many are misinformed about my practices and what I really do as a necromancer. I use blood magic for special reasons, but not often. I work with Hecate and Anubis in my workings, but I still have so much to learn. I really want to learn the old magic rather than the new age, pegan magic . I really admire voodoo and native American magic, but since I am a reincarnated highpriestess from 1834 and my history with death and loving the darkness, I was told by Anubis during a astral projection I'm born necromancer and daughter of darkness. My grandpa Fred was a Blackfoot Indian and told me at age 4 that I was baptized in blood and death followed soon after I learned the meaning of his words 4 years ago. When I came from the womb, I was covered in blood, and soon after, my father died, and since then, I have been honored with being present. When people passed away, I helped my grandpa go in peace when he passed. His last words were to say that he was proud of me and honored to have me by his side as he took his last breath he guided me as I performed the ancient rites of the dead, and I saw his spirit leave in peace this experience helped me to not fear death and gave me my purpose as a necromancer.

    I really like her response to the question about a birth right to practice that culture's magic! Having grown up in Europe, sharing culture has always been commended so I find the gate keeping habits of cultural appropriation very odd. I agree magic is universal and is only interpreted by different cultures into different methods and traditions, and everyone can do it. As a Slavic person, if our magic resonates with you I encourage you to do your research and practise freely, regardless of what ethnicity, race, nationality etc. you are. If my culture makes you happy, I'm happy to share it :)

      It helps the imagination to grasp it better.
      As well as art.
      It conveys the message a bit quicker to your inner / or subconscious mind better.
      Also - music and any melodies of the Slavic culture. 😊 It will transport it quicker to you.

    Karma is from ancient India, not Middle Eastern Judeo-Christian monotheism. Yes, there is a problem of Westerners pretending karma is punishment...it's exactly what Ms. Helvin seems to understand despite her understanding of the vocabulary--cause and effect. It's without moral ideology, it's without dichotomous good or bad concepts. It's just what happens and allows for balance.

I don't like to promote FB but I am in a great Slavic witchcraft group there. If you understand Russian northernfable.ru is a great resource as well. I highly suggest starting with an ancestor and deities altar if you are into that and start giving offerings in addition to doing research and of course working on your own psychic/mediumship skills so that you won't necessarily "need" a mentor. Veles Day is near in addition to Drowning of Marzanna so you can acknowledge these days and see what you learn etc!! Make sure to let me know how it goes!!

    Other thing I would like to point out is Christianity and paganism have been practiced. However, if you look back to when all this started with Christianity and Catholicism, and anything to do with religious witchcraft or anything related to it in modern times the stories that were passed on from different types of mythology ends of years, only gone so far as to learning about, mythology Greek mythology. All the Abraham make religions the modern day things, in influences along with things dating back to the pyramids. and also Egyptian mythology is quite interesting. It all goes back to the same thing.

      Divination and magick is great for connecting to ancestors that you would otherwise not be able to. You can start meditating, doing seance, have an ancestor altar and use cards to speak with them.

    Karma has nothing to do with punishment. Karma is the lifecycle. And within that lifecycle, we are born and reborn into ring carnation. It is a sole purpose to learn from the past life and within that coming into this world coordinated again there’s always a cause-and-effect, but is not punishment we do it to ourselves. We do it with our choices. It is the balance of all things in this universe not just this world. How are you in? Mine cannot comprehend for the most part. We do not live just once. Energy does not die transforms. Personal belief. I am not trying to take away anything this woman is saying I am very curious to what she has to say. .

    • @MagickandMediums
      @MagickandMediums  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Most all of our ancestors practiced magick. Due to the crusades many pagans just outwardly "became" Christian for survival. In many Slavic countries you will see dual faith where pagan traditions are practiced with bits of Christianity thrown in. So you can have a "catholic" grandma who was doing LOTS of pagan stuff and even communing with the old God's but just using their new Christian names. Remember Catholics just changed the names of certain Gods,etc. Don't be scared, just be respectful and learn. I am not Slavic but since my husband is Slavic I have access to his ancestors. Also remember that people have access to the spiritual guides that they may have no "blood" connection to. Go out there and explore and have fun whipping up some magick! I also created The Slavic Oracle which is out this year and it's available at www.magickandmediums.com. it is a 33 card deck introducing you to Slavic paganism, ritual and witchcraft.

    Im russian born raised. Practiced it since 13 and its in the family. I have to sadly let uou understand that.... it's only 1/4 true, and only ehen it comes to historical facts. Shes not an actual master and the "spells" are what we call... granny's way lol. Its just a common day to day stuff that some bdlivey work. But no its not how we work. Also we dont even share this knowledge for free between oursrlves.. many go to study under a very experienced person and litetally follow them everywhere, helping buying doing cleaning whatever. Many people in Russia try tojust scam even russians...and it works. Many believe in witchcraft but 90 precent og the people have no knowledge and understanding og it. And sadly such people like Natasha wrote the most basic folkore and a soup recipe. Im disgusted by this...but yea...its cool to read only if you realize its far from what actually is slavic witchcraft

    What people are obviously unable to understand is that old slavic craft (knowlage) on this subject was never writen down and will never be writen down. It is not ever even spoken outloud. You cant just decide to buy a book and learn it. You cant just decide to be. If you are you will be thought. It is passed down. Not always in the family. If something changes in the family or if its used how it is not supose to be, it will not be able to be passed down. This spoken about here are legends, after Christian experiments or not even sure how to call it. But knowlage you can't get by buying a manual. You learn it as very young, or you don't. And mostly you don't. As slavs have no witches. Those who call them selves a witch as slavic people have no old knowlage as we don't know what a witch is, its not how we call it. So this is all mambo jumbo talk.
