The Witcher is a fantasy drama streaming television series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, based on the book series of the same name by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. Set on a fictional, medieval-inspired landmass known as "the Continent", The Witcher explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia and Princess Ciri, who are linked to each other by destiny.[9] It stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra.
The first season consisted of eight episodes and was released on Netflix in its entirety on December 20, 2019. It was based on The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, which are collections of short stories that precede the main Witcher saga. The second season, consisting of eight episodes, is scheduled to be released on December 17, 2021.[10][11] In September 2021, Netflix renewed the series for a third season.

If Netflix or any other company reaches out to you to make music for their movies/video games, I would watch without hesitation

Still blows me away how you capture the character with each song! Geralt always struggled with being identified as a monster until such adventures others show him that in actuality, he much more human than supposed "pure" humans. Fucking grade A!
Definitely hear the fantasy or medieval theme and mixed with a bit of rock takes a bit to get used too but it works

This reminded me of some of Miracle of Sound's Game of Thrones tracks, which are some of my favorites of his. I absolutely loved it, and I was so glad it was a longer song!
I've never watched or played the witcher, but god damn this song is legendary! Makes me want to see the show at least. 😁

the first season can be a little rough, its good but you have to go in knowing its all based on short stories that were written after the first few books, it sets up the world but there are time skips involved that the show doesn't make clear so if something seems a little out of place like Yen rapidly going from 'I want to lean magic' to 'I am over all of this' its because there is often years, sometimes decades, between events (yens a few hundred years old at the end of the season and geralt is 100 ish If I remember right).
The only other issue I had was keeping track of Ciri, her mother and her grandmother, as all the actors look very similar just at different stages of life. All that really matters is the grandmother is the queen, ciris mother is the one getting married in one of the episodes, and that Ciri is being raised by her grandmather because her parents died off screen in a shipwreck
the show itself is pretty sick aswell, but that song is just sooooooo good

Lol any song that has a hurdy-gurdy and incorporates the lines "when destiny takes hold" and "The heart of the night takes of another" automatically qualifies as power metal, and I am 100% here for it. This was killer, from instrumentation to vocalizations to mixing. You destroyed it. Don't think I missed how you chose your melody based on classical scandinavian chord progression. Absolutely nailed it. Thank you for sharing this.

YOOO! More Folk metal Divide please! I loved every second of this! Those instrumentals were so clean and flowed perfectly with the lyrics!
This song takes me back to the world of the Witcher. I can just imagine it, with this song in the background Geralt rides to the destination of his contract. As the song slow down he starts preparing for the fight and he sits down in his meditating pose and waits. And the monster emerge, Geralts open his eyes and the hook comes in. The fight ensues, it was hard fought but he does comes out on top. As he cut off the monster head he see corpse of the victims. He goes back to the village and report that there are no survivors but the monster is dead. The elder gave him his pay and the son of the dead villager speaks "Many thanks for avenging my father master witcher. Despite what's said about yer kind, yer might not be a monster after all". Geralts just nod and thought to himself, I may not be a monster after all.

On a sidenote, if you listen to this without watching the video, the song could be about Guts also. And until Divide makes an actual Guts song, this song will be divided (hehe) between Geralt and Guts song in my mind. The lyrics just fit Guts' character arc so well its uncanny.

The tale of the white wolf is an epic tale, of a Witcher who became the guardian of a powerful child, he considered that child his daughter, this yale tells of what he's done and how far he is willing to go for the child.
The mix feels really polished and the vibe of the song as a whole is just what I needed to listen to.

I loved the Witcher, but this song just solidified it as my top favorite. Sorry Elder Scrolls, it was a nice run, but this song just paints Geralt in such a flawed and noble light that I seldom see in media.
It made me really think, and honestly I have to say I kinda relate to the guy. There's no glory wherever you go, and those who open their eyes to that find themselves the loneliest. Often with being hated for things that weren't even your doing. Will you continue on for the hope of something better? Or will you cave and let it consume you?
