I watch a lot of horror shorts, It's my favorite genre. I usually don't comment on horror shorts, but I must say the scene where the character gets pulled out of bed was very well done, and original. As a whole its definitely 4.5 stars out of 5. A must watch. 👍
@@donniegreenway8401 The way I viewed it was that the former owner had passed away in that house, but his spirit was lost and confused. He didn’t even realize he was dead and didn’t take lightly to a new person living there.
My mother's house was exactly like this. You would hear footsteps throughout the house after 3am. I told her about it, she didn't believe me. It wasn't until she had a friend stay with her for a year and her friend witnessed the same thing. My mother eventually had the house blessed by a priest inviting friends and family to help with the blessing. It helped because the footsteps stopped. I will never forget the terrifying experience.
was the blue light in his shirt his mic and they just forgot to tape the led? I thought it was a pacemaker at first and it would come into the story somehow.
The blue light was indeed a mic. My lav mic broke on me on our shooting day and it was unfortunately the only option I had at the time to get clean audio. We taped over the light but it shined right through it. You live and learn.
I'm so confused because I didn't understand the ending. He got in an argument with the entity. Got Beat up. Then He was driving wrecklessly down the road. I know there's a cold twist because this is such a good one. Can someone please enlighten me. I'm going nuts.
@Anna Papantidou Yeah I'm not sure that's all there is to it. That's alot of emphasis on someone just driving away. Why focus so much on the backseat? Why All the intense music as He's driving away? Yeah I think there's a little more to it than that.
@@struggleboy2927 I think I can help. The ending is purposely ambiguous. Holding the shot for so long on the backseat creates a sense of discomfort and tension. The audience is left to decide if the entity is truly in the car or not as the man is forced to leave his home.
I did love it! It's "Paranormal activity" with a more energetical atmosphere, with a tougher dark touch, what makes it be a bit scarier. I like it very much. It could easily become a length film.
@@menziesproductions7758 I've just subscribed to your ChanneI and looking forward to watching what you have posted.. I'll be doing that today! Many thanks ✨
Just ask the ghost to either have rent on the table the 1st of every month or at least do the dishes and a few other chores to earn his keep. In this housing market you have to make things work.
fantastic film! you really got some interesting shot comps in here, and your editing skills when it comes to sound design and color grading. awesome job!
The only comment I will make is that he’s running while it’s snowing with no jacket just with a hoodie and his chest is exposed! Omg brrrrrr I’m cold 🥶🥶🥶
I lived in Minnesota for a few years. I would be out in a t-shirt sometimes. As long as it doesn't get windy and it's only snowing. It feels pretty good. Once a slight breeze comes up. Your nipples get hard and you want to run back inside the house for a Jacket.
You made a short horror film without a single cheesy jumpscare. I'm impressed beyond words. Just last week, I'd resolved to stop watching YT horror shorts. In the space of two days, every single horror short I watched ended with a "jumpscare." I don't know how some (most?) YT indy "filmmakers" think they're going to rise to fame by presenting a string of "horror" shorts that end with the Big Bad jumping out at the protagonist and/or viewers. JUMPSCARES AREN'T SCARY ANYMORE. The trope has been done to death. The end of your video is scary for anyone who has an imagination. The best horror is that which you invent in your own mind. You know that, and that makes you a good filmmaker. I look forward to more of your films.
Thank you for this movie! I think as a genre, horrors adapts really well to a short movie, and your movie here really shows that. The thing I found that really drew me in was the camera work: it was very fluid and active in a way that almost made it another character. It really helped me empathise with the person being haunted, because I think that is how he was feeling with this entity that was circling around him. The sound of the ghost and all the creaks and bangs worked really well too. The creepiest moment for me was when the two doors opened at the same time. There were a few moments that felt a bit cliched I suppose, with the useless priest one of them. Acting is really, really hard, especially when you are the only character on set but you have to act out as if you are engaging with another character. So super well done to him as well. I think there were some flashes of overacting. I guess like most things there are ways to make something better, but that should never stop us from working with what we’re given, and this was put together really well and I am super thankful for everyone who helped to make it happen.
Thanks for the kind words Simon. For majority of the scenes it was just myself (the director) and the main actor. We had no crew of any kind. I would set up some lights and then we’d just shoot it run and gun style. Overall I wrote, shot, edited, and even composed the music on this project. So I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it. Plenty more to come!
It was just like a full movie in fast forward manner. Starting from buying new house and feeling of someone's presence, then using cameras, consulting priest and finally trying to resolve your problem by Ouija board. 👻
Loved it , just cause you have money which this guy seems to surely have doesn't always mean you own everything . That ghost was already there & you can't buy them off or fight what you can't see. In the end it was just claiming what was it's home . What guy that lives alone & watches horror films is scared of something he can't see & something that belonged there first. Good for the entity ,adios amigos to sissy boy , at least till he realizes it's in the vehicle for a ride. Who doesn't love a good ghost tale & i must say the sheet was a brilliant bit of tension . Thanks for the ride
@@menziesproductions7758 Thank you that was fun & i couldn't help but notice the graveyard he drove by on his attempt to get away hmmm , nice of him to give the ghost a ride in his nice expensive Jeep , yea we know who's in that backseat. Yea we are the ones to thank you & all the great storytellers that have the knack to gives us great little tales of wonder.
Two things: 1. the bed pull got me 2. main actor did very well once he "went crazy" and interacted with the pastor/priest. Okay 3, the ghost attack scene was great. The actor played those punches and kicks well. As well as the arm one. Awesome job 👍🏿

I think it’s a very well made short horror film. Hat off to the main character! Love his performance!
I'd box that demon up and take him to the nearest UPS store for a hassle free return and never look back.
This guy's attitude was the scariest part. Good movie, thank you

Indeed. I was telling the character to not pull the sheet off because he would not see anything, and then it got worse for him.
