  • In Odoo, both cycle counts and inventory adjustments are crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records. Here's a breakdown of each concept and how they work together:
    Inventory Adjustments:
Used to manually update the on-hand quantity of a product in the system.
    Reasons for adjustments could be:
    Stock breakage
    Spoilage
    Loss during theft
    Finding unexpected inventory
Odoo's Inventory Adjustments feature allows you to:
Specify a new on-hand quantity for a product
Select a reason for the adjustment
Update the inventory level for specific locations (if enabled)
    Cycle Counts:
A systematic process of physically counting a subset of your inventory at regular intervals.
Helps identify discrepancies between the recorded inventory levels and the actual stock.
Odoo supports cycle counts by location:
You can choose a specific storage location to count.
The system displays the recorded on-hand quantity for each product in that location.
During the physical count, you enter the actual quantity found.
Odoo calculates the difference between the two quantities.
    How they work together:
Regular cycle counts help uncover discrepancies in your inventory.
Inventory adjustments are used to rectify those discrepancies in the system.
By periodically performing cycle counts and adjusting inventory levels accordingly, you ensure your Odoo data reflects the actual stock.

The out of the box filter is wrong. it ignores the zero at hand and you can not filter them back in (case when you want to 'specifically' look for a zero at hand product)
when you search for the item with zero at hand you find it.
When you hit "Apply" at the end of the line, it does not give you the option to add a reason (header APPLY does).

Go to inventory > Reporting > stock, stock reports can be taken from here. Various 'filters' and 'group by' filters can be applied and exported to a spreadsheet.
