I well remember my teacher punishing me for forgetting to have my parents sign my test paper (and I did just forget; I got 100% on it so there was no reason not to show it to them). The nun grabbed me by the arm, flung me against the blackboard, and hit me across the back with a yardstick. She hit me so hard that the yardstick snapped in two. This was in 1958; I was in third grade. This was commonplace behavior for this particular teacher.
If that were me I would be very tempted to return the favor in adulthood.

I went to a private school which was extremely strict and abusive. One of my teachers (who was pregnant at the time) hated me for no reason. I seriously still don't know why. I guess something about me just angers her. She would slap me, beat me, throw away my books or make me skip lunch for little to no reason. She would come to school in a bad mood and took it out all on me. My classmates were aware of it too but no one could do anything because punishing students is allowed here.

I was forced to stand at the front of the class while half a bar of soap was forced into my mouth then masking tape placed over it and the teacher stood behind me holding my arms so that i couldn't pull it off. I was in panic and thought i was going to die as i was throwing up and choking on it due to the masking tape. All the kids just laughed as the puke came out my nose. The irony was that the teacher would go to anti-vietnam protests on weekends and carry signs saying peace and love not war. I guess that didn't apply to little kids in their care. Mother grew up in SC for part of her life. She said she'd walk by the office and hear screaming

That still happens in Florida y’know
I was paddled several times in middle school; earned every one of ‘em. Mr. TA Wilkins had a big paddle with holes drilled in it on his wall with a list of infractions and how many licks each infraction warranted. Boys had to lean forward and grab his desk. Girls did not receive a paddle to the rear, they had to hold their hands out, palm up; fingers were grasped and pointed towards floor to tighten skin of palm and they received a wooden ruler to the palm, again number of licks based upon infraction committed.

A lot more child sacrifice happens now compared to back then
Children are also getting worse and worse with disobedience. So it's 50/50
@@playerx2006 so we should just go back to assaulting them cause that's easier than actually being a decent human being and figuring out a non barbaric way to solve our problems, if you can't figure out how to help your kid not be a menace then you need to not have the kid in the first place, not to mention, juvenile crime cases are at an all time low since the 60s, so even if what you're claiming is true seems it's probably for the best anyway

This was extremely disturbing and made me sick. Our world will never get better until we learn how to treat our children.
It's amazing how when you educate yourself (I don't know how true all of this actually is), you see why people still justify spanking your children. Ranging from these different forms and severities of punishment, people are gradually seeing spanking as abuse; "my grandfather was scorched by a fire, hitting you with a switch is no big deal. Toughen up!", I was hit with a switch, using a paddle isn't a big deal. You'll see when you get big.", I was hit with a paddle, using the belt is nothing compared.".
This is how confused, angry adults are produced.
No you just were not beat enough. Two factors make an acceptable adult. Having a mother and father, and having good discipline. why don't you seek out will smith?

Asian Parent: Am I a JoKe To YoU?
In my elementary school back in 2004 we had a punishment called "The peas of anguish" When someone was very bad like bullying or being disrespectful to the teacher he would force the one who was responsible for it to kneel on frozen peas for at least a few minutes depending on what the one responsible did. If it was something like forgetting the homework you wouldn't be punished for it. You just would be reminded to do it. If it was bully other people then you had to kneel 4 to 5 minutes of the frozen peas.
If it was disrespecting the teacher then you would have to kneel agonizing 10 minutes on the frozen peas. At least the punishment taught us to have respect of the teacher. That is something that is very rare in our society and schools today.
There’s a lot of people complaining in the comments about kids not getting beaten hard enough nowadays and that’s very telling of their own mental state
"Not getting beaten hard enough"? I've only seen complaints that today's kids aren't disciplined at all, and I don't know where you've been, but I don't think that's just the imaginations of everyone except you. Student assaults on teachers are at record highs, as is America's national teacher shortage. 1 in 5 American boys has been diagnosed with ADHD, causing other countries to call it "an American disorder".
So very cruel , people back there was just sick and nasty 😡
Why do I always watch these extremely late at night
