@onetrackjazz thanks to you as well. I just call em likeIsee em, am gr8full that this platform still has something worth watching & of course im finally someone besides myself realized I'm the best!
The soundtrack to Mickey One, by Eddie Sauter and lead soloist Stan Getz has remained the most impactful recording I have, and I have the other Getz/Sauter work. The excitement generated by that album is a one off. The later CD release has two versions, the one in the film, and the one done for the LP. The LP version is the obvious winner. Put it on, turn off your phone, get rid of everybody, and play the whole thing in one go. You'll come out of it a changed person.
Let's get this channel where it belongs, and keep this historic music alive.... pray 2the algorithm, comment, like, subscribe whatever it takes.

Thank you! These interviews have got me more into jazz! The more blunt they are, the more I love it!
Cool.
Thanks for sharing
Really appreciate these. Thank you.
"Voices" was my favorite lp from SGETZ.

Anybody reading this ever study with Getz at Stanford? I would love to hear what he said and how he taught.
Dig these interviews🎉
Wow, what a great interview. Getz sounds like Charles Bronson.
i never considered that could be true but damned if it isn't...this is 4 stan's at their nicest i imagine!!!!
Ii happened to see him and his woman on Baker Beach in SF around 1982. His licence plate was SGETZ.
What the record at the very end he’s referring to that he felt was his best?
I was wondering the same thing. What year was this interview?
1986
I'm not sure, Joe Smith, the person who did the interview made several cuts, but I'll see if I can find out
When asked about Getz, Zoot Sims once remarked, “Stan’s a nice bunch of guys.” 😂
