Wonderful video! Thank you for your expertise. At minute 9:10, I tried to select the "jump to slide" option, but it is greyed out. I updated Captivate today to the newest version. Any solutions? I'm very new to Captivate. Thanks.
It's difficult for me to know without seeing your project file. If you would like me to help you troubleshoot this you can purchase an hour of consulting time for me to get started. You can buy that one-on-one hour here: bit.ly/Cp1on1
Is it possible to add a shape to the drag-and-drop question to indicate that the current question must be answered before moving on to the next? can you provide me a tutorial link for this? Thank you.
Hello, Paul! I'm loving learning Captivate through your lessons. I just bought one off Udemy on making a memory game. I'm currently trying to make a drag and drop feature where only one of the answers is current and added to the quiz results. Ex: the word is cat, and the user could either drag the letter a or e into the middle of the word. Ideas?? I'm a kindergarten teacher and try to make games engaging. Thank you so much for this!! I hope to hear from you soon :)
Check out the tutorial by my friend Damien Bruyndonckx. This isn't exactly what you're looking for but might give you some ideas on how you could create your game or others like it. elearning.adobe.com/2020/06/learn-how-to-create-elearning-games/
Yes but it would be complex. You would need to write some sophisticated JavaScript to move the drag objects to random places on the slide upon entry of the slide.
I have added drag and drop as a overlay knowledge check in interactive youtube video. When user gets all answers correct, video doesn;t contine from there. On success - continue already selected Also I have hidden playbar during quiz.
hello, Mr. Paul, I've been watching your videos thanks for the great content i have one question i have a quiz that has four questions i did follow everything you did but the quiz result don't treat this drag and drop slide like a question is there a solution for that? thank you anyway
Adnan Idou, This is a little more advanced than I can answer in the comments of my TH-cam videos. If you would like to purchase a block of time I would be happy to meet online and share my solution to your question. You can purchase an hour to get started. From there we can determine if you require more time. captivateteacher.com/how-i-can-help/consultation
Hi Paul. Love your videos. I am using the latest Captivate version on ios. I am having trouble with a drag and drop project. I have set correct answers as far as sources and targets and keep getting only the failure message no matter what answers I give. I have checked the 'set correct answers' and they are all as they should be. I drag the objects to my targets and the response is always the failure message, never the correct message. I have done quite a few drag and drops before and never had this issue so consistently.
It's challenging to help with this sort of problem without seeing your original project. Sometimes starting it from scratch will allow you to capture a step that you previously missed rather than pulling out your hair over this one slide. Best of luck.
Drag and drop is not compatible with accessible eLearning. Adobe has a helpful page about accessibility in Adobe Captivate. helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/creating-accessible-projects.html If you are required to ensure your course is ready for persons with disabilities you will want to ensure you are familiar with what works and what doesn't work.
Sorry! I should have posted this here! I have a question: I created a Drag and Drop and included it in my quiz. I have the correct and incorrect captions and everything works beautifully. The Drag and Drop is part of a larger quiz with other normal questions (multiple choice, etc.). The problem I have is when the user gets the Drag and Drop wrong and also ends up failing the quiz. I am having them retake the quiz but the drag and drop does not reset like the other questions. When they arrive at that page the slide already shows the wrong caption/button. I tried adding an advanced action that hides those captions upon enter, but it doesn't work. This may be because I want the question to be included in the quiz. Any help??? Thanks!
Sergio Ramirez, Keep in mind that this example with the remediation is using a drag and drop as a knowledge check (no score). Remediation will not work if it's a final quiz. Multiple quiz attempts work fine (just tested it out). If you would like to purchase a block of time I would be happy to meet online and help you with this problem. captivateteacher.com/how-i-can-help/consultation
Hi Paul! I've set a D&D up as described. The question is included in the quiz, but the answers don't reset upon slide revisit. I've changed the number of attempts, but all the attempts are allotted at the first pass and it's still not reset if the quiz is restarted. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
When you include a drag and drop as a final quiz question it will only reset if you click on Retake Quiz from the quiz results. If you customize it as I've done in the video you will need to create a custom reset advanced actions. You might be able to take advantage of the following Captivate System Variables to create the appropriate conditional advanced actions. cpInQuizScope - 0 /1 Indicates whether a user is in the scope of the quiz. cpInReviewMode - 0/1 Indicates whether a user is in a review mode.

Great video Paul. Is there a way to have instant feedback (correct or incorrect) when the object is dragged without waiting to submit.
This is kind of an older video but here is a way you can get that result. th-cam.com/video/SMlQBgu5g2M/w-d-xo.html
Well thought-out tip- Thanks

I don't have a tutorial for this exact situation but I'm certain it could be done using what I teach in this tutorial as a foundation.

Can we shuffle answers/source here each time user uses the quiz in drag and drop feature?

You're welcome.
Do you know how this drag and drop creation acts using a screenreader or keyboard user only?
Drag and drop is not compatible with accessible eLearning. Adobe has a helpful page about accessibility in Adobe Captivate.
