In this conversation with Josh Matthews of theSalesforceRecruiter.com I ask about the Salesforce Job Market, ways to stand out in 2024 as a Salesforce professional, and what the focus should be for those looking for a new Salesforce role. I've heard that the Salesforce talent pool is oversaturated, so I wanted to hear from a Salesforce recruiter who speaks with companies and candidates on a regular basis.

Super interview so useful for people like me I've been considering Salesforce BA role - although I haven't had Salesforce experience earlier but more in other technologies

Great insight! I tell anyone looking to break into a Salesforce role to use certs as your learning guide - NOT your end goal. Soft skills will always be a differentiator as well.

So true. People want someone that supported Salesforce along with the rest of their unique tech stack. And God forbid they allow you to learn them on the job!

I feel like the Salesforce market is not saturated, it just got fair how it was supposed to be after a period of growth. The market for Juniors was always kind of hard, we are basically back to normal.
But I wonder if it ever will bounce back, especially with all the AI automation. Let's hope so!
    P.S. Awesome interview!

Thanks you Igor! I think you are right. I think the Salesforce job market has normalized.
I think specializations will continue to help people stand out a little, but I don't foresee the demand for "Trailblazers" to outpace supply at previous rates in the near future.

This ☝️ you can't get a cert and write a LinkedIn post and get invited to an interview magically anymore but that would be extreme under saturation.
Saturated is used far too regularly. I've seen a study group study for the admin test and 2 of 3 of the members in the group landed jobs then everyone looks at the one who didn't and call it saturated.
It has normalized, we are weathering an economic storm not just for Salesforce, we will come out on the other side and we are by no means in a place where its some awful market to be in. It's just not as strong as it was in 2020-2022 that doesn't make it bad, just not at its height.

Too saturated the Market is, not only apex and admin they are demanding LWC skills for junior and mid level roles. Admin jobs are vanishing nowadays.

I do the salesforce administration for a lawfirm that uses litify as well as doing IT jobs for my related employer, i am indeed a unicorn and somehow im only getting paid 50k in miami !!
I do basic admin stuff like dashboards and reports and making profiles also have fixed a couple of flows ive (enjoy coding so im thinking about going the developer route as well as learning the AI stuff, its rlly interesting! ). On a side note... i wanna ask. my boss for a raise, ive alrdy been at the company for a year what do you think is a good amount for someone like me?

They are ripping you off! I just interviewed for a similar position a few weeks back, starting at 94k. From what I've seen, law firms have the money to pay you more than the average. Check glassdoor and stuff and just show them that you are underpaid for the market, and WAY underpaid for what law firms are paying salesforce admin/devs.

There are many factors that come in to play (e.g. location, years of experience, industry experience, communication skills, etc.), so it is hard to say. You also need to take into account that there are many people searching for an entry level Salesforce role, so don't take the role for-granted.
Given the limited information, I would say you are probably underpaid, but, my advice would be to stick it out another 6 to 12 months and then begin applying to other positions outside your role. It's unlikely your employer is going to give you a raise to match what another company would pay you. The experience you can get on your resume right now will be more important than the raise you could get right now.

@@SalesforceHelpClub Thanks for your insights and reply ! I really appreciate it. I actually was doing IT when the law firm transitioned to use salesforce so i was there from the beginning. Im about to hit the one year mark of actually administrating the platform but I know i have definitely been a catalyst to the company, i don't think they expected me to make such an impact so soon. Im making flows and customizing the platform to their needs and even my boss asks me for help many times on how to achieve things on the platform, the law firm is also handing some tasks to Consultants but i have been able to get some stuff off their plates which my boss loves. Should i wait until i hit the one year mark to ask for a raise? I dont even know what to ask for I was gonna say 30 an hour but like you said Im sure a company will definitely hire me for more, its just really hard to get interviews with my limited experience currently. Thanks for all you do and all the help.

Yes, I would wait until the one year mark at a minimum. I think 30 an hour is a very reasonable request. But, as I said, experience is more valuable than a small bump right now. Because it will help you earn much more in a few years. Entry level positions seem to be hard to come by now, but the more experience you have and the more specialization you have, the easier it will be to move up.
