This town and Tofino really that pretty of towns? From Ontario and want to check the Island out. Heard ladysmith is nice too.
Yes it is, I heed of warning, make sure you have a reservation and your trip planned, if you think your gonna roll into Tofino and get a room during prime fishing season (sleeping In the car is a thing without a reservation and that road tk port alberni is not fun at night, 90km at 60-70km hr, you literally can’t wrap around the bends any faster. Average $280 Night can go up to 400+ during peak season, fishing charter is $625 half day $1250 full day, there is NO FISHING allowed off the docks, a car rental is best, check out McMillan provincial park to walk the wooden walk way path, and see Douglas furs the diameter of a Honda Civic from a side view, tropical looking plants and moss growing on tree’s that look like it’s been growing thousands of years just east of port alberni which is the closest town to Tofino and ucelete, ucelete is also a First Nations port town, with a heavy First Nations history. Vancouver island is expensive, ferry if driving is 82$ each way, you can fly into Tofino from Victoria, I’d recommend driving the island, it literally takes 5 hrs to get to Tofino not stopping and 10 over the limit. port alberni is about 90km from Tofino and takes, 1hr 45 on gps but honestly it’s 2 hrs not including the construction on the road there improving, which is down to one lane you can be stopped for an hour waiting your turn to go. And remember it’s the ocean, stop in at gone fishing, for bait, realistically all you need is raw squid and shrimp from the store and your catching fish, don’t be sold on all the lures and having to buy herring you can if you want, literally it’s the ocean it Isn’t that hard to catch a fish 😬
