    All the ingredients are most likely freeze-dried then warmed up. It's really the only way that those types of food can remain shelf stable with an extended shelf life to stay in a vending machine for long periods of time, which is why like you said the meat tastes like old chicken, because it is.

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be interesting to see what is in the machine before it puts the water in. I don't think they heat the ingredients separately.

      @@BeatTheBush Probably everything sightly shrunken and dry and then when the hot water gets streamed in and starts steam cooking everything the ingredients expand from absorbing the water. Although you would have to mix it still since the water and spice aren't really mixed, when done mixing would probably taste good since would have absorbed some flavor from the other ingredients along with the spice/seasoning mix. Overall way better than instant ramen or those other store ramen bowls, especially given the quantity given

    12$ could be potentialy around 1/6th of the monthly spendings on food here in Poland. It is a premium dish with premium way of serving, but if you can manage to get fresher and therefore probably more tasty ingredients yourself, have better customization of your dish and make it much less costly, then there's no comparison to homemade ways. That is unless someone is really rich and prefers the time save and convenience.
    By the way how do you rate your food? Is 10 a comparison to best thing ever or is it different approach?

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is unique in that it is from a vending machine. No other reason to get it. 10 is compared to best ramen I had.

    I'm all about bringing over hot food vending machines...but this is not worth $10-13. Let's be realistic...in Japan they have ramen vending machines that (although simpler soups) only cost $3-4 with the majority of their machines only being around $3 for most options. These machines are destine to fail long term if they keep prices this high, for $13 we can go to a restaurant and get fresh ramen. Hot food vending machines should be quick, inexpensive and accessible...not glorified stationery gourmet food trucks.

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is nothing like it in the area. More expensive for uniqueness. Prices will come down if more machine dispense ramen.

    • @endlessdrive8421
      @endlessdrive8421 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeatTheBush I hope so, I live in the bay area and I've been craving the opportunity to try a hot food vending machine, but after seeing the price...I'm not nearly as excited. The aspect about those machines that interests me most is experiencing the quality of satiety one can get from simply buying inexpensive vending machine food. If you're paying $12, it makes it harder to fairly judge the experience because the price makes you think twice about the value of the meal.

    Wow, $13 is expensive for vending machine food. It probably is old meat. My nephew experimented with a McDonalds hamburger bun. He didn't eat the hamburger bun and left it sitting in room temperature for a year. The bread never molded! There must be a lot of chemicals, that are probably not good for you to eat at McDonalds and the other fast food restaurants! Your monthly food cost would be very expensive if you eat out a lot like that! The self-service vending machine helps replace human workers with machines, which isn't a good thing for the workers.

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think this ramen likely has much less preservatives than mcdonalds though. Since the pork did taste old, it's because it didn't have much preservatives I think.
