- Well, another one is in the books! We had such a great time this year, despite the complications and extra hours I had to put in! Thanks to all of those who made this years even possible I know a lot of work goes into making it happen! Thanks also to all the vintage camper owners for bringing out your beautiful and unique campers and rides to share with all of us! It really is quite incredible that so many of them have survived and are still traveling down that roads adding more adventures to their story! #vintagecamper, #vintagecamping, #springmillstatepark

I bought TWO little trailers called cycle sleepers early this summer...that little white one in the video parked behind my bus is one of them...the tongue weight is less than 10lbs! They are perfect for VW's, I towed that one down and couldn't even tell it was back there! Thanks for everything Gary, see ya on the next one!

Thanks...a lot of great memories at that park...I saw my first split window VW double cab there when I was 16...I started saving for one THAT day! lol

Thank you for taking us along to your Happy Place and the vintage camping gathering😎. Some pretty neat things and kudos for getting your top camper ready to go on short notice. That poor Little Bee camper looks like it went through a Texas hail storm.
The little BEE was in a hail storm! The owners are so cool, he said he thought it added to the over patina and presence of the camper! I tend to agree! Always a great time at this event!
And a vista cruiser wagon with the glass top! When I was a kid mom and dad had one!
that thing was wicked cool! and the owners were awesome people! As I said in video I would totally drive that!
Just saw a newer video last week where you plasma cut the winnebago/bug design in a saw for.your dad. Cool..
But now i see this and learn he HAS a 1972 winnebago..

Yeah Their winnie is AWESOME! He got the transmission seal replaced and converted it to disc brakes so with the completely redone interior its really nice! ....the link below starts in middle of the last camping trip we took this year just as dad starts to pull out of the campsite...beetle in tow!

Awesome, sharing this with our oldest son who is into older retro stuff like this. The music goes with these old trailers too. I bet you want to get one someday to restore. I've restored two myself in the early 90's. After outgrowing it with the kids flipped it and made a bunch of money by a couple of hunters. They loved it and said they would be hunting in style with that one. It was a old Shasta and had a bathroom with shower. It was only an 18 footer but would sleep 6
we've done one 20' travel trailer, then I have done several of the little vintage tent trailers/motorcycle trailers. There were some incredible trailers there...people get really creative with them and that's what I love about the event! Thanks for being here Tim!

That Spartan trailer featured early in the video was made in my home town! I always love to see them.
That thing was amazing! Living in Indiana it is hard to fathom that most of the worlds campers or camper parts are made in Elkhart, In but apparently not the Spartan! lol It was fun to look at the manufacturer tags and see how FEW were made in other towns, most of them were Elkhart even the older ones...that Spartan tho was crazy cool!

We started with a hand me down, then kept "flipping up" to the next one...just have to wait for the right deal to come your way!
I was watching all the RV's with a smile on until I saw the 1969/70 Holly day Rambler...just like the one I had and enjoyed so much...hard to let it go...thanks for the video!
lot's of great rigs there every year! Such a fun event and the people are what make it so fun! We love hearing all the stories about how people found their trailers/rv's and the listening to all the work and passion they put in to keeping them on the road! cheers

Switzerland co. is where I took my vintage 74 v.w. bus camper van at a private farm music fest..one year only.
Kudos on catching that Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser! In addition to finding another '77 Cordoba(my 1st car), on the bucket list of cars to own is a Vista Cruiser. The closest I've come is my '92 Roadmaster Wagon - & it only had the front glass, not the side ports. Lots of cool trailers as well. Never a dull video!
That thing was totally awesome! I remember them when I was a kid, but had kind of forgotten about them and when I saw it in all it's original glory I was like...OMG! thing was near mint...I wanted to ask for a ride, but then couldn't find them after they cruised around...So many cool rigs out there. I always enjoy the variety and cleverness people come up with to decorate that "re-invent" these old trailers! Thanks for always being here!

It's been way too long since I've been there, almost twenty five years.
Hopefully I'll get my knees replaced this fall or winter and I can enjoy
places like this again.

I was all set to have them done in 2019
but ended up two months in hospital with
a bad colon.
So i wanted them this year then the virus hit.
I'm gonna do it sometime, I really miss long walks.

I really enjoyed this! My grandparents had a Shasta. You walking through the campground reminded me of when I was a kid camping/visiting grandma and grandpa I’d walk around and write down all the camper (maker) names. I had quite a few written....🤔I wonder if Mom still has that little book....
the vista cruiser brought back memories of sitting in the rear facing back seat....and of course I enjoyed seeing the buses. And your dads bug.
I always liked camping but always hated when we had to pack up and leave....

It's an awesome event...we've gone the last several years and have meet so many amazing people and got to see some really unique trailers. My parents Winnebago will be there this year, Dad got it all back and running like a top!

That was wonderful Marci! I believe you did similar last year. I so wish, I could get my wife to go camping. I did get her into a large stationery camper once, (I wanted to buy it), let’s just say that didn’t end well ☹️. Oh well, otherwise a wonderful girl. Just not meant to be.
we love going to this event! There is always a couple of weekends of camping we really look forward to! This year the vintage camper rally was closed to outside visitors (campers only) but was still a great time had by all! Camping isn't for everyone, but we sure enjoy it!

we always have such a great time there! I was really glad we were all able to go despite the issues my folks had with their ride, we still made it happen! The little man always wants to take about 10 rides, not sure WHERE he gets that! lol cheers
Beautiful..remind me of going camping when I was a youngster back in the late 70s on into the 80s with my grandparents and parents

Always a great event! Yes, we had two pretty cool days for August and the only day that it really got pretty hot and humid was the day we left...but the evenings around the fire were fantastic! Thanks for being here Dave! See ya on the next one!

haha...yep...I've learned to keep the "neighbors" happy you fix their broken stuff for free or at least for a reduced rate...hehe...so then when I'm up at 1am banging around or grinding metal they just let it go! lol
