I agree, respectfully. When on that mic sounds like high pitch yelling, but when talking over explaining on computer, voice pitch mellows. With the mic you can talk normal and it picks it up fine. If not there’s all kinds of software to fix it. I know creative cloud you can. But really love these videos. Audio is just so hard on my central nervous system.
Thank you for sharing these insightful videos. I was wondering if the BN-20 is also compatible with the FlexiDesigner software. I hear you talking about how great the program is in making it easy to add cut lines but the BN2 may be a little too much with regards to price while the BN is an easier buy. Thank you in advance.
Yss, I don't find I need to print white (b/c the material is almost always white) nor do I want to deal with the increased maintenance that is required when printing with white ink.
Here in the UK we don't get flexi Designer, we have to buy it outright. so is there any chance you could do a video on contour cut using versa works please
I have tutorials for all kinds of ways to add contour cut lines in VersaWorks mid way down the page here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/roland-bn-20a-and-versaworks-tutorials.html
There is rolled paper you can use, yes. It's not cardstock, more more like hoto paper. You can see I used it here on the pink print.www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/what-can-you-do-with-bn-20a.html
Do you need the cleaning cartridges? Im looking to get the bundle plus extra ink, media, blades etc & was wondering if i need to also get cleaning cartridges
Hello, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I followed your video to the letter. The issue I’m having I had a BN-20 and upgraded to a BN2-20a this versaworks wont print my PDF designs I made when I was using the BN-20 I have a job I need to finish and I get as far as loading it but when it gets to loading it to print it stays on 0%. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.
@@SilhouetteSchool Thank you I did figure out what it was. Did you ever have an issue with once it prints and goes to cut it off because the run was too long?
Hi Melissa, I have the bn2-20 and I was wondering what would happen if I go on vacation and not use the machine for 2 weeks. With the machine become ruined because I didn’t print everyday?
I opted to get CMYK for both my BN-20A and BN2-20A for two reasons: 1) most material I print on is white so I can use that for any "spot white" 2) a whole lot less maintenance not dealing with white ink
Far better to get a dedicated cutter like a Graphtec. Roland's are pretty crappy at die cutting, if thats what you're after. And for kiss cutting, its always better to let the print cure for a few hours which makes the print and cut feature pretty useless unless you are ok with leaving the print in machine. Also, I have found the accuracy is not the best if you remove the print and then reload it later - ARMS on Graphtec is phenomenal.
I've read that we need a separate cutter because this printer will not perf cut for very long. How true is this? I purchased this model because I did not want a separate cutting machine.
Hello, I've just installed my Bn2-20 printer, but when I start it up for the first time after filling, I don't get any yellow or magenta when testing the nozzles... do you have a solution please? Thank you
I would try to do a really good manual cleaning. If that does not work to get them going then reach out to Roland since it's a brand new machine and they should have the exact steps.
I need help with the Initial setup, like on the video .. BN2 Utility Is gray and I cannot open it, and there is no way I can open it anywhere so I cannot continue.. anyone know what to do?
Thanks for responding. I registered my unit under the Roland site, but never received a code nor an email with the code. May have to wait till Monday to speak to someone 😢
at 7:35 you show the blue travel piece, that has to be removed before use, and is not mentioned on any roland videos. It locks the print head in place for shipping. Also there is a piece of cardboard on the printhead that secures it as well. Roland had no idea about the clip, neither did tech support, and i had to open a ticket with their support contract company and they had to unpack a unit at the factory. We got our brand new BN2-20 and spent 2h trying to pass initial startup : ( PS Your videos are better then theirs.
@@awwcrapCheck the big plastic cover your machine came in. There should have been a small plastic bag taped to it with some papers in it. Your activation code should be on one of those papers.

Hi, I purchased the BN2_20a. The software will not load on my Dell desktop computer. Bell & Howell and Roland "TECH" support cannot help me. They tried to add the software remotely, but I could not load it on my photobooth laptop. Basically, they gave up and told me to buy a new computer. So now I have a useless Roland BN2-2A. Did anyone else have an issue loading the software?
I'm trying to add the Bn2-20 to another device but I'm unable to do so. Can someone help me please? I can download everything but the driver to the Bn2-20.
If you mean you're trying to install on a new computer, there is a full package download on the Roland DGA site that should include everything you need to install.
Just got a BN2-20 unboxing as we speak... thanks Mel! You inspired me
That's awesome!
What has been your experience with it, so far? And, have you had any issues with the white ink?
This ladies energy is hilarious 😍
Beautiful! The machine too!
I really like your videos but the audio made it unbearable, hope you can fix that

Within 30 seconds I had to mute and go to subtitles..! I think she may have inhaled twice during the video!
Good video though!!
Great video setting up BN2 20a and stuck at error (Roland bn2 print data is larger than the media width
Sounds like the design you have is too wide to fit on the media
I had the roller in wrong place Thanks

No, the BN-20 and BN-20A can not use Flexi Versaworks Edition. It does make a huge difference with the ease of use with the BN2
Hi, great video! Is there a reason why you're not using a BN2-20insteadcof this 20A?

My guess is if there's a white layer in the BN-20 PDF it's throwing an error for the BN2

No, just keep the machine on so the head can self clean and you will be fine.
Melissa I love your videos! Can the BN2-20 hold a 20 x 150' roll of vinyl?
It can. Just be sure to check the weight of the media roll. The BN2-20A has a weight limit for media.
What are you converting Ethernet too.? USB?
I'm just using an ethernet to USB adapter so that I can connect the Ethernet cable to my computer which has a USB port.
@@SilhouetteSchool thank
You. I think
I’m going to buy one. 👍🏻
What version DG Connect Hub are you using? Their latest one v2.4.10 doesn't have FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition.
What machine are you using? Flexi is only available with the BN2 machines and will show up in DG Connect once you register at BN2.
Hello quick question you had mention the softwares are PC.... do you know in the future if it will available for macs?
I anticipate it will stay PC only
Is it worth it to get the 5 color setup? If so, why?

Yes you can

Does this work with Mac?
No the software is PC only. I use my Mac to do as much as I can then transfer to my PC via G Drive

That is not the case in my experience. It perf cuts just fine!

Why does mine say setup incomplete if I followed all your steps?
Sounds like you may have missed a step. Is the ink in? Machine connected? I would go back through the steps to confirm
Anyone know why the files come out spotted (like dots of ink, not smooth picture) after printing? This has happened with almost every file I’ve used.
