Just got eXistenZ on 4K and waiting on JFK to arrive tomorrow! Ordered Face/Off and can’t wait to see in high def, as a 25 year old Asian American I’m so very happy seeing woo getting an awesome treatment since I basically grew up with crappy bootleg prints for his filmography! Can’t wait to see how it looks!

On the Face/Off VHS/DVD releases, it always had that gray overtone as well, so it must've been the video master they used back then and the blu ray just used those old masters as well. I'm not sure what it looked like in theaters though, home video releases back then were pretty much downgrades from their original theatrical versions unlike today where the 4K could possibly look better than the theater.

Yesss! Received both early last Friday. Face/Off is in my opinion one of the best pure action film. JFK, well, it's in my overall Top5. I've always been fascinated by the subject. I have more than 30 documentaries about it so over time I've made my own opinion :) This is of course my most anticipated 4K release of the year and I'm so glad it was worth the wait. Thank you for all the great content, to me you are the best reviewer on YT. Hope you get better soon in time for the Holidays!
JFK is one of my favourite and most watched films and this new 4K is magnificent. I have never had a repeat viewing experience where I noticed so many new details, where my eye was drawn to so many things I had never noticed before and the depth of image in certain shots was spectacular. One of my favourite 4Ks so far.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MOVIE "JFK". FIRST SAW in movie theatre when released in 1991 (on jericho turnpike in syosset, long island, new york). I own this film on laserdisc and on dvd and on bluray and now bought on 4k UHD. seen few times. wish sound had been upgraded to atmos. AND own "Face/Off" on laserdisc and on dvd and on bluray I think. First saw this movie in bogota, COLOMBIA, south america (across from andino mall). when had a tumor removed from my head , doctors told me tumor was 3-inches, and doctors had to do a FaceOff on me, meaning doctors had to pull back my face. I will buy "FACE/OFF" when get cheaper as right now, been buying A LOT and spending too much lately. Thanks for your reviews; I watch first before buying or before opening. Have A HAPPY HOLIDAY(s)!

Tbh i think it wouldve been more warranted if it'd come with both versions on 4k and the new JFK Revisited documentary on bluray...but still a must buy for me since it's in my top 5, and cinematography is one of its strongest suits!

Bay's classic catalogue, with the exception of Bad Boys, is still surprisingly missing on 4K, yet SCREAMS for it and Atmos - Pearl Harbour, Armageddon, The Rock... + Con Air too, infinitely rewatchable
Unrelated question but do you know if killers of the flower moon 4K sold on Italian Amazon will be in English but with Italian subtitles that are optional to turn off? Or will we be forced to hear third party Italian while the mouth movements are clearly English lol
Not a big fan that shout basically threw 3 cases into the JFK box and upped the price. Could’ve been one case with flipper trays and/or a book like Arrow does
I think it depends on how it is used - If it is used to marry up with the original theatrical presentation- ok, but if there is a regrade and very jarring yet engaging HDR, it may be fun to watch, but that def feels like more of a gimmick.
JFK 4K sounds amazing- the picture is interesting. Some scenes with HDR pop right off the screen, some have questionable color grading choices. I may take the audio from the 4K and mux it into the previous blu-ray release-

Want this set so bad but $45 and no 4k Theatrical, yea no. Charge me and extra $10 if that's what it takes but I'm not buying an uncomplete set for a premium price simply for special features.

Great review! I’m for sure going to be getting JFK as it’s a Blu-ray that FINALLY has the theatrical cut of the film.
You are right about music & dialog that the music comes a bit too loud at times. I thought something was wrong with my hearing.

Yes. The vhs and laserdisc were the last ones to have it but Shout Factory finally gave us what we wanted.

To me, the jfk 4k looked just awful. I do not understand the high score on that one. Usually we agree.

Mate, great videos, but please reverse the sizes, with comparison pics taking the entire frame or 85% of it, with you in a smaller window on top

Not really. We pay $40 for Criterion 4K discs and this one has multiple versions and special features. Great packaging too
