Marie Lee's style of cooking, while may not be the most presentable, is very reminiscent of an authentic busy chinese mom
It's crazy how Sauyee accused other people of having store bought dumplings even though she store bought her wrappers 😭😭
I actually feel like it was meant as a (strange) compliment where she couldn't believe how good the dumplings looked. The editing made her seem kinda villain-ly, but she was smiling and laughing in an impressed way more so than she was accusing someone of actually cheating.

it's nice to see that marie lee can represent northern china :) the other three seem to be from southern china in the Guangdong, hong kong, area so they will make dumplings in a different way
Yes! Like I was surprised when they were talking about it being normally eaten at lunch for dim sum. In northern China, we eat it whenever, and often for holidays. I’m also more used to boiled dumplings as opposed to fried or steamed.
Look at all this healthy constructive criticism with a dash of humor.

Bobbi scored low for everyone especially Carrie when she even said that, she liked the dumpling and it felt like someone experienced made it. So made no sense for her to give a 6.5 rating. Thankfully Carrie won anyway

I like when there's an extra, third-party judge, so that they can balance out bad faith scores. I'm glad Carrie still won despite the attempted sabotage!

It did make sense....she took points off for it being slightly dry and not having a dipping sauce
Some criticisms at Marie Lee’s dumplings are unfair because the other contestants appear not familiar with northern Chinese cuisine. Perhaps a more constructive format is for the mom to give background of their dish first (ex. thick homemade skin with beef filling in classic northeastern Chinese style; pork pan seared in southern Chinese style)
Bobbi gave Carrie’s dumpling much praise then scored her low. I’m glad she lost!
Marie Lee is wonderful. I wonder if larger dumplings are a thing in her part of China? Huge country with very different traditions
Sauyee had the most to say about everyone's cooking, but has never made these before and store bought one of the main ingredients!🤣🤣🤣

Bobbi is wrong for scoring Carrie so low. After she knows she really liked and even said an experienced mom cooked it. Then gave her a 6.5 😒 I’m glad Carrie still won.
I love how nice and positive these women are. Breath of fresh air compared to some of the other groups I’ve seen
This might be the third Chinese mom’s video I’ve watched, but Bobbi always wins in my heart.

I think it’s the fact that she scored what seemed to be her favorite only a 6.5. I feel like she may have scored that one low intentionally because she knew others would score it high and she wanted to win.
When Carrie gave Sauyee a 8 the look on her face told me SHE ain’t even believe that 😂

Wow. I thought all the guests in these episodes were preparing their signature dishes. Then Sauyee said she never made them in her life.
The criticism was constructive but still felt none of them were really experienced in making dumplings.
Some of them did admit that at the end, but I still think it was cute that they tried their hardest

Because Bobbi threw everyone’s scores down by giving exceptionally low numbers.

I could be wrong because I'm not familiar with Chinese mom shade but I think this is the first video I've seen where they were all pretty fair and honest with their opinions of each moms dish. It was so wholesome 🥰

I feel like it’d be better/more impartial to have everyone rank the other dishes and then to add the ranks so the score isn’t biased due to individual scoring ranges

A lot of people you see in western media from China are from Hong Kong or their parents were from Hong Kong, or the areas surrounding it, which was a British colony. They often learn British English.

We have the oldest Chinese community in Europe in Liverpool, UK. Been around since the 1830s. These ladies are British Chinese.
