Thanks for posting the video. Very informative. I’m a female and I’m not saying it’s impossible but I didn’t know where to begin on getting ready for that portion of the acft. Thanks again.
For sure! They have the plank now, but the leg tuck is a good exercise to work on.... a good leg tuck helps with rope climbs, and clearing obstacles/walls/barriers. -Coach Bob
The leg tuck is a power move with some technique (move your head back as you lift). The challenge is to move folks who cannot do 1 to folks who can pass. I'd recommend doing lat pull-downs with a short thick lat bar with the same position and grip used in the knee tuck (I found one at the FitnessFactory). Then, use a height-adjustable lat board to do reverse curls at increasingly steeper angles. Some boards have a 'horn' that would be somewhat similar to the leg tuck. Arm straps (sometimes called "wings") can help to do knee/leg lifts while hanging.
Hey Bob! Wow I’m in Georgia going through leg tuck videos and I see my old CrossFit coach. Wow CrossFit Glen Burnie really helped me get through some personal fitness ceilings! Thanks Bob!
Thank you very much! I just did a diagnostic and failed because of not being able to do a leg tuck, I’d never felt so weak. Thanks again for helping square me away!
Ethan Clarke then you failed you have to have a minimum score in each event unfortunately. Mine is a 60 in each event the lowest rating for the test. So I have to deadlift 140Ibs throw a medicine ball 4.5 meters do 10 hand release pushups get 3:00 on the sprint drag carry do 1 leg tuck and get a 21:00 2 mile these are the minimums to pass.
Hi Amy - sorry for the late reply! Any core exercises that target the hip flexors and lower abs will help. + Dr. Stuart McGill's Crunch Up + Hollow Hold and Hollow Rock + Love Taps over a yoga block or towel (th-cam.com/video/Wnw-2zD5vbs/w-d-xo.html) + Plank Holds Hope that helps. -Coach Bob

So failing one event means the whole test failed?
Ethan Clarke yeah one event and it’s all failed you have to meet a certain score based off your MOS on each event to pass
@@brendenstephens8031 what if the total score is good but one event is failed?

You got it, Claudine. Any other video topics that you would be interested in? -Coach Bob
Do you have other suggestions for training without any equipment at home? The second exercise is really helpful.

@@crossfitglenburnie2221 Thank you! Do you have any links to videos you like for these areas by chance?
Oh, wait I see the link now LOL. My screen cut off some of the reply.
i lose balance while lying down doing a leg tuck in
Okay - perhaps holding on to a post or other solid object with your arms. -Coach Bob
Do you think you need to be able to do a pull up to do a leg tuck. I thought you had to bend your elbows
Just need a slight bend in your elbow
Thanks for the tip, Elise. -Coach Bob
