      There has been both a concert band and a brass band setting of Bohemian Rhapsody for years arranged by Darrol Barry and published by Studio Music. This actually sounds like it- but it is the (British) Brass band version. The concert band version is similar but the solo goes to the Tenor sax.
      Just be careful the euph part may be in the wrong key and also it’s quite high. I transposed the tenor sax part and played it at a concert.
      Justmusik in the UK sell the sets.
      Good luck.

    My primary instrument is Trombone, but my School band teacher wants me to play Euphonium for an Ensemble event (brass choir). How do I get a tone quality like that (what should I be thinking of doing)? I have some experience with the instrument, but I want to sound as good a possible.

    • @Matonizz
      @Matonizz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi friend, key to quality euphonium sounds vs trombone for example will be having slightly more open aperture (space between lips). That will open up your tone and make it nice and round. Second thing you need to do is keeping your embouchure flat with minimum effort. That will remove all the airyness in the sound and give you crystal clean tone. Freebuzz and lip bending would be two main exercises I'd recommend for this. Check some of my educational videos on tone, that will break it down in more detail. Hope this helps, best, M

    I love everything about this. The Euphonium's tone is absolutely breathtaking. The only problem is the conductor from 1:03-1:29 because the piece itself is a slow 4/4 and he is doing a lot unnecessary hand movements. Almost seems as he is trying to make it more energetic, but that is during that ballad.

    • @ldalri2780
      @ldalri2780 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kaedan Kilpatrick I’m a tuba and I can say the brand doesn’t really matter, in my opinion the worst tuba brand is besson, although they have a beautiful sound if they are brand new, but it all depends on a player. Yes every brand does have a small tambour difference however I think your best bet is to go with the more reliable brand and make your tone better with personal adjustments. Great tuba brands are, miraphone, Jupiter, and St. Petersburg. It also depends on if you like pistons or rotary. I find pistons are better for me personally because they are easier for faster passages but rotaries might suit you better. But yea the tuba doesn’t really matter, only your own personal tone.
