    Andy is like half the kids on my team -- either not comprehending or listening and then, not following instruction to the coach who is pointing at a spot saying, "Stand here"

    Consider making these drills competitive by adding a scoring system and / or add defenders to influence decision making.
    You will see the engagement ☝🏽

      Absolutely! Game-based drills and small-sided games with actual defenders are vital to developing your team. Note, Coach Schultz likes to start with no defense when first teaching offensive concepts then progress to drills with defenders.

      Absolutely! I’m a huge believer in making it competitive and keeping that edge. I like splitting them into teams and doing 1 v 1 and team competition. They will always be playing for their team no matter the situation.

    Your timing and zones are a little off, drop zone (from top of key to foul line/foul line extended) triggers kickups and or back doors if they move into the drag zone (below foul line) its a different action. Love these drills, just would be very mindful that the kids aren't just taking off on a kickup because the 1 is getting down hill. That is why there is a drop 2 and drop 3 zone to initiate the actions.

    Not a fan of finishing same side on the middle attack from the wing. You big should be relocating to that block once he sees the middle attack.

    Gap selection is very hard to explain to high schoolers. Good explanation of how to space the floor in some of these.

    What do you mean by positive and negative pass?

    • @philipchurch8203
      @philipchurch8203 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Positive pass means player receiving pass is in an attack position and has cleared the path of the passer. A negative pass would mean the passer is still in the driving path of the player he is passing to. In a dribble drive system you want your passes to create attack opportunities with as straight line and efficient drives as possible.

    Is this offense good for 3/4 graders?

    • @BreakthroughBBall
      @BreakthroughBBall  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have used a simplified version of this with 3rd/4th graders. Since they are relatively weak to pass and shoot over long distances, I believe ball handling and attacking the basket should be emphasized more at the younger ages. However, don't expect any miracles. Getting them to do anything at those ages is a miracle. :)

    How long do you recommend doing each drill? (Coaching age 12-13 girls.)

    • @BreakthroughBBall
      @BreakthroughBBall  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First time through, it might take 8 to 10 minutes due to explanation. After that, 4 to 8 minutes should be sufficient. Hope that helps!

    The term "Dribble Drive" makes no sense. The only way you can drive is when you are dribbling so there is no need to use the word Dribble with the word drive as you can't have one without the other.

      You can drive without dribbling. If you get a pass down to you and finish on the move without a dribble that’s driving without dribbling
