    This guy teaches instead of showing how well he can play - a rare find. Thanks a million

    This is definitely the best minor 2-5-1 explanation anywhere online. Your outstanding ability to explain why the minor 2-5-1 must be built from the the harmonic minor, answers the questions that most budding jazz pianists would need to know before setting out to practise all the harmonic minor scales purposefully. Thank you!

    Great videos - really well explained. I love the way these voicings are so versatile so, for example, the dominant♭13 ♭9 shape is the same as a root position half diminished. So a Galt can be thought of as a half diminished built on a tone below the tonic (half diminished on an F for a Galt). Thanks for leaving these videos up: a really useful teaching and learning resource.

    with the 3rd inversion voicing, could you also resolve to the Cm(maj7)? I think only the Cm7 was displayed here.

    Greetings. In the video you reference the worksheet for the (minor) ii V I with the chords in all 12 keys. It sounds as if you plan to include this in the resources section of the upcoming website, but I am wondering if I might be able to obtain this sooner (i.e. directly)? If there's a fee I'll be happy to send it. Again, so grateful for your outstanding instructional approach.

    Couldn’t you also play a Dm7b5(b9)?
    I play route list voicings, and if I do a 3 or 4 note open voicing the b9 will be played. Yes?

    very good video and explanation but i dont understand 10:53 you say its Cm7 but your playing D in the chord, where did that come from, same thing at 13:33 i know its Bm7 but where did Db come from?

    • @PianoGroove
      @PianoGroove  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes D is the 9th which is an upper extension... watch this lesson for more information: www.pianogroove.com/jazz-piano-lessons/chord-extensions-9ths-11ths-13ths/
      That is a rootless voicing for C-7, check out this lesson on Rootless Voicings: www.pianogroove.com/jazz-piano-lessons/rootless-chord-voicings/

      +TimZ timotius Hi Tim, Stella by Starlight is written in the key of Bb Major - here's the score: www.guitarcats.com/realbook-jazz-standards/stella-by-starlight . Remember that jazz is constantly modulating though so the chords come from many different keys. Thanks, PianoGroove

      Hello Friend
      When one becomes a member , you have access to download sheet music, scales , progressions, to print and to facilitate the study , or everything must be done only online ??
      I ask because in my case the language (I speak Spanish ) I complicate the study
      Thanks
