For everyone with a NVIDIA graphics card. Go to the NVIDIA menu, add OBS and select integrated graphics. If you still have a black screen, select display screen and it should work. Also, make sure you have your OBS updated, and if you don't update it and add it again in the NVIDIA menu.

Ok so I found a quick fix, I dont know how to describe the problem but this worked for me: 1) right click the game capture source 2) Go to the transform option and click on "Fit Screen" you should see immediate effects, if not apparently you didnt run the OBS as an administrator or have the wrong version or invidia or graphics card application is making life difficult for you, Hope it helps. By the way I dont know why people dont include that as a solution since it can be something that simple as the game being recorded in that little red square or somewhere off screen, also check the resolution setting if nothing helps good luck.

I watched many videos before this, in fact I found even more solutions than this video displays and still nothing. The studio which used to be amazing is now complete trash. If you are getting a black screen and can't find any working solutions either, then I would personally just find a new studio. I give up, this is absurd.

The problem was Geforce Shadowplay (which captures last X minutes of gameplay video). When i turned it off, everything worked just fine! Thanks man. Hi, I have some problem with my OBS. I created pictures 3months ago, these I added to OBS. The pictures are nice. But what I created pictures nowdays and I wanted to add to OBS, they are became darker than the original pictures. First I created the pictures in pages. But since all picture what I added to obs became darker, I tried to create also pictures on keynote and power point. Nothing changed. All pictures are still darker on OBS. I tried to record Netflix so I can make some "crack" (or funny clips compilation) videos, but it appears black where the video is supposed to be every time. I can still see the border and the "pause" and "resume" icons and the line that shows how long the movie/show episode it, but the content itself doesn't appear. Any ideas? I tried the solution at 5:03 but the only thing that happened was my game fps got capped at 30fps when my laptop wasn't not plugged in. Before my laptop could run up to 80fps. I say capped because whenever it wasn't plugged in I would only get 30fps. Does someone have a way to fix this?

this is assuming you've installed a nvidia drivers. Right click on your desktop and NVIDIA control panel should appear. click it and do the neccesary

ok so when i try to get fortnite on my game capture it does not show up WHAT DO I DO??
What worked for me was I used a Window Capture instead of a Game Capture, try that.
OBS does not like cancer so it rejected Fortnite.
