    Just returned from a trip to the bay of Naples in my 1990 V12 convertible, covered 3000 miles car did not miss a beat, we took 4 large suitcases which was the envy of every Ferrari owner we came across. On the downside I have owned the car around 20 years and in that time it has been restored three times at a cost of £230,000 in total these cars are not for making a profit on, my advise to anyone who wants a great car is buy one that someone else has paid to have done.

      Sorry for the trivial question but do you know approximately the mileage you got on that 3000 miles trip ?

      Most of the mileage was on the continental motorways through France and Italy we traveled at the around 80MPH and we achieved 17.8 to the gallon.

      @@mike.sharp4578 that’s pretty good for a 30 year old V12 ! Awesome

      Lucky you. I went in one my friends father had about 1980, and it was smooth and brisk. I personally would be shy to spend that much on keeping one going, but if you have the funds, no reason not to.

    Good to see you back making videos again. I love the eclectic range of cars you sell and enjoy your “walk arounds”. Even though many of them are out of my price range, I find the films very interesting.

    Wonderful video once again.
    I’m always impressed when you point out the small, and obvious flaws in the cars you sell, and what you do to rectify those flaws, very well done.
    I wish more people would do what you do, a real credit to you and your company.

    Do think it’s a good idea with a thirty four year old engine?

    Did I hear correctly that this went for... 55,000 POUNDS (not even $?) in 1985 or 1989? Because I remember Rolls Royce ads in the US in 1981 selling brand new Silver Wraiths for... $49,000!

      @Classicandsportscar1  หลายเดือนก่อน

      £50,000 in June 1988. Cars were much more expensive in the UK. U.S. pricing was much more competitive. In 1990 the equivalent Rolls Royce was £101,000

      The XJs v12 cant be used because it drops valve seats

    These are nice cars, but I personally would not be parting with 6 figures to have one. If you are willing to do that, then I think probably money is no object, in which case lucky you.

      That is what was spent on the car. It is for sale for a fraction of the restoration cost

    the brown and black (plastic?) dashboard is not as luxurious as the XJ's was, and the XJ could be had at a fraction of this one's price.

    Absolutely gorgeous car.. my son and I are completing a full restomod on his 86 XJS coupe.. shaved body (no door handles,no horrific bulgy signal lights,even the finger hump on the gas door).. custom engine management by mobeck(DIS, injectors,IAC),, custom headers and ceramic coated in and out,,, everything steel is chromed under the hood,, custom snorkels bolted to 75mm throttles,,, all suspension blasted and powdered coated,,, custom 1-1/4" front sway bar,, 1" sway in the back,, all suspension have polyurethane bushings,,, custom interior and trunk,, remote door opening,, removed the auxiliary gas tank and placed the battery in the right fender pocket,, midnight black satin paint,,, 18"x 9" rims,, 275/45 skins,, 1-1/2" spacers,,, plastic high pressure fuel lines,, custom 6 hole louvers on the hood,, original complete TWR body kit,,,,40 mm suspension drop (frt/bck),,, complete Focal sound system,,, custom 14" steering wheel,, relocated power steering and transmission coolers all fasteners are SS,, and it goes on.. these cars are incredible if you just improve them a little.. here in Canada, they are very rare..
