Lifelong Cleveland browns fan……I will always have a spot for bake in my heart. He played hard for us when it seemed nobody wanted to. He really wanted to turn us around, and he did. Say what you want about the size and the drama, baker came out for us and gave us in Cleveland fun football. For a guy my age. That’s rare. Thanks baker

@@variable57 you are absolutely entitled to that opinion! I know a lot of people that feel that same way. He wasn’t perfect by any means, and I do think Watson is a better QB, but he competed for us with a tough shoulder injury. Now if that was a selfish endeavor or not is another thing, but his competitiveness was a nice change of pace from the carousel of mediocrity. And we beat the Steelers so that was fun!

As a Tampa resident and Bucs fan, I am thrilled by him playing here. Yes, its only week 5. But theres no denying he is playing his best football now. The respect he has from the team here. Taking his o line to the Bahamas. Him, Evans, and Godwin at dive bars hanging out. Not a bad thing said about him and even him admitting that he didnt handle a few things great. And owns it. And has clearly put in the work and built on what he did in LA for those few games. And just playing damn well. Browns did him dirty.

I think he will figure it out. He had the weirdest career thus far. Had Hue and Kitchens, then go to Stefanski and have success during covid year. Starts off super hot and gets that shoulder injury 2nd game of season and just isn't the same. Get's traded to Carolina in June/July right before the season, awful play calling and coach was fired after 5 games. We saw some flashes in LA, his first game he gets signed on a Monday to play Thursday and he played well.

He tried to say that the Browns lied to him about looking at a new QB. However, that is not true at all. They told him that they were looking. He just assumed that it wasn't a superstar level QB like Watson so that he could have a chance. That's his fault, not anybody else's.

Baker has had issues, and I've never been a fan, but the way the video shades his release from Carolina was dirty. He had taken on his role as backup with grace and was by all accounts a great teammate. It wasn't remotely along the lines of "they didn't even want him in the building he was so bad." They released him as a favor. There were suddenly some very QB needy teams like the 49ers (worked okay for them) and the Rams.

also, i was at the Cleveland Clinic right at the height of his Browns career and randomly saw a Signed browns helmet in my neighbors room. He was terminally ill and recovering from a rough surgery. I asked him with a slight smile, almost knowing whos it was. He said it was Bakers, it was the kindest of gestures and for this reason among others is why i get so angry when i watched the city who built him up, after one iffy year which he still got them to the playoffs... injured, cheered to have him replaced with a record breaking contract on a player with proven baggage... i dont understand this city

It made them try to force feed the ball to obj rather than utilize his presence on the field as a distraction and let other targets eat like Jarvis, njoku, and Higgins (who had a great connection with mayfield but was underutilized in the offense)

Not to be a dick but Baker being the first overall pick was not the general consensus. Him being picked was a huge surprise. It was expected leading up to the draft that Cleveland would draft Sam Darnold, even to the point that he wore a brown tie because he was that expected to get picked first overall. Baker was a huge surprise in the moment.

I kind of feel sorry for him, but in a way, remembering all those commercials he used to do up to a couple of years ago, it would have been better for him to keep a lower more modest profile. So did people only look at the final score of that game against the Chiefs? You know the game where he threw an interception that led to them being down 19 to 3 at the half and the only reason that they came back was because Patrick Mahomes got hurt? We're just forgetting about all that we're pretending like he had this amazing playoff game even though he averaged less than 10 yards per pass in that game… And again threw an interception that led to a chiefs score that ultimately lost them the game… OK then
