I spent a lot of time in that area when I was a kid, and in 1968-69 had a GF in Margate. We spent some fun times inside Lucy. Glad to see she is restored now. She was gutted inside and generally dilapidated all over the last time I saw her. I'm going to add a visit to her to my 'Bucket-list'. I know I'll get back to NJ someday. Hello Shelly!
my great uncle is the man who built Lucy! James V Lafferty!!! Lucy was not repaired till after 1977. My family went up there that summer and took pictures with us kids infront of Lucy! I have been up several times since, last time was in June of 2005 and she looks great!
My parents always took us to the white sands right next to lucy-william gaines the eccentric owner of mad magazine tried to buy it to name the mad elephant but the deal fell through

If you go to Atlantic City - a few miles south in Margate is a sure stop for some WEIRD NJ culture! Worth the visit!
