- Digging at a cellar hole today that goes back to the 1700s I was pulling relics out of the tumbled chimney stack. I was having a good day of digging through bricks and finding buttons, spoons and lots of bottle glass. I needed to stand up for a bit and walk around so I figured I would swing my Fisher F19 metal detector around and see what else I could find. First signal I heard was on the other corner of the old foundation and sounded like a button signal. When I dug it up and wiped the dirt off I couldn't believe it, it was a silver coin ! and OMG its a 1700s Spanish silver. Turns out to be a 1774 half Reale and talk about luck. I walked right over to that side, swung and there it was. Metal detecting old places like this relic hunting you just never know and that is why you dig, dig, dig ! I would love to see you do a video of all the different pottery shades you found over the years cleaned up just to see the beautiful patterns you found. And a video of all your finds you kept over the years. If that's possible. It would be very appreciated. I just love historical things. Just a thought. Maybe of ideas for winter videos when you can't get out and metal detect or explore.

Fun finds. The silver was the icing! And you didn’t scratch that coin. It was in that condition when it was dropped 125+ years ago.

Question from a newbie. I have a Vanquish 540. Do all detectors show the same numbers for the same materials? In other words would that coin have shown the same number on my detector as yours?
