  • Yesterday we saw the first report from the government's committee examining the adequacy of welfare benefits. Its headline request was that JobSeeker payments be given an urgent substantial boost along with increases to rent assistance. The report argues that JobSeeker has stalled for years, leaving recipients without the capacity to afford the basics of life.     Its pretty bad when you cant aford to buy toilet paper and have to use clean cloths light bulbs or even batteries for my wall clock

    Rubbish hes only going to increase the jobseekers payments for women over 55 im 53 a casual cleaner i haven't worked since July last year due to rotator cuff tear injury i cant aford physio at all on jobseeker i go day without food medication cant aford to get a hair cut or personal items ive got ptsd anxiety bipolar depression living on this payment is isolating me from from not having enough money to find a job i cant even aford to get the bus because i don't drive due tomy ptsd and anxiety im angry that hes rejected the increase to jobseeker increase
