Engineering colleges under Anna University in Tamil Nadu acquired affiliation by resorting to fraudulent means, as per the findings of Chennai-based anti-graft NGO Arappor Iyakkam. Multiple colleges presented the same persons as full-time faculty during inspections in 2023-24, allegedly with the knowledge of the University. Right to Information (RTI) petitions and documents uploaded by Anna University on their website accessed by the NGO show that 353 teachers were presented as full-time faculty in more than one engineering college. Among the 353, two professors of Engineering were presented as full-time faculty in as many as 11 different Engineering colleges and three professors in 10 different colleges among others. Of the 480 colleges affiliated to Anna University, 224 colleges (almost 50% of them) have committed the fraud. TNM’s Senior News Editor Shabbir Ahmed speaks to Arapoor Iyakkam convener Jayaram Venkatesh on how the NGO blew the lid off the massive scam.

Cause that power vests in the higher education minister. But, its a problem for anna university because governer can rope in AICTE to take action if Anna University does not take enough action

இந்த பேட்டி பொறியியல் கல்லூரிகளில் படிக்கும் மாணவர்களுக்கு மிகவும் முக்கியமான ஒன்று. திரு. அறப்போர் ஜெயராமன் அவர்கள் கூறியுள்ளது போல் 200 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கல்லூரிகள் இந்த மோசடியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளதாக தெரியவருகிறது. இது போன்ற கல்லூரிகள் எவ்வாறு மாணவர்கள் நலனுக்காக செயல்படுவார்கள். கல்வி என்பது வணிக நோக்கம் மட்டுமே பிரதானமாக இருந்து வருகிறது என்பது தெளிவாகிறது. அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகம் இது போன்ற முறைகேடுகளை விரிவான ஆய்வு செய்து காவல்துறை மூலம் இதில் ஈடுபட்ட அனைவரையும் சட்டத்தின் மூலம் தண்டிக்க வேண்டும். இது போன்ற முறைகேடுகளை தமிழக அரசு காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகள் மூலம் விசாரணைக்கு உத்தரவிட வேண்டும் என்பதே பெற்றோர்கள் கோரிக்கை ஆகும்.

These colleges also have 10 to 20 percent one day faculty . Please ask University to do an inspection now. Ask them to update the names in the college and university portal.
Out of 50000, around 5000 to 15000 faculties are fake.

Please go deep into the issues of Phd Scholars of Anna University Science and Humanities departments and expose the wrongdoings. Research guides not paying required attention to guide the scholars. They drag the students for 7 to 8 years to complete the degree. It is atrocious. Ruthless attack on the life of students. After Phd these poor souls work for a petty salary of around Rs.16000/-

@@unkown3035 Do you have any figures to show the number of college seats snd jobs? Most of the engineers are employed in the private sector and job creation is need based. Yes, I am an engjneer and have worked in the corporate world for over 30 years. There are some good private engineering colleges which run at full capacity and are able to employ full-time teaching staff. In some colleges where there is a staff shortage, students suffer.Two important attributes are necessary for a jpb - Knowledge and attitude. Both can be acquired with proper teaching and training.
