The One Show - shrimp

A food film about the demise of a northern delicacy - the Morecambe Bay shrimp. Once prized in fashionable restaurants and rich pickings for fishermen, stocks of the shrimp are now declining and only a handful of fishermen race across the sands each morning to harvest them. While we were filming, we had our own time challenge - with only 20 minutes to fish before the tide turned and threatened to cut us off from land. Copyright BBC

When I was a school Lad I went out on Horse and Cart with a shrimping Man, but that was during WW2 and I live in Larkfield Road,near Churchtown, and my Best mate at school was " Stanley Taylor ,and he had a great Bicyle which was amazing joy to have in those Days.

Went out on the bay in a tractor with my brother and dad in 1970, the bloke who took us was called scutter, he gave us a nice bag of shrimp when we finished, we were in a caravan on a site called the Ponderosa, great memories,
