How does the armor unlocking work? i heard another youtuber say that it picks one to progress on random per win?
Or is it total wins such as 40 to unlock relic tier armor, It's all a bit confusing, would be great if you could explain

I'm not familiar with WH40K lore whatsoever, but all of what you said sounds badass.
@@HamatoYoshi2099 Trust me, the Black Rage is not as glamorous as you think it is. You eventually lose all sense of you who once were, becoming a gibbering wreck and a loose cannon. Inducted into the Death Company with fellow Blood Angels who have also succumbed to the Flaw.
And if an honourable death is not forthcoming, you will find yourself feeling the kiss of an executioner's axe across your neck, courtesy of High Chaplain Astorath the Grim, Redeemer of The Lost.
Sadly might be kinda hard to edit that in for a cosmetic.

@@GreyDoofus88The problem is that the game and all the voice lines assume you’re playing an Ultramarine. From what we know of the story, it seems the Ultramarines are the only loyalist chapter on the planet. Obviously you can customize your Astartes however you want and there are some other chapter cosmetics like a Black Templars or Deathwatch helmet, but for the purpose of staying consistent with the story, can’t really do anything past the Blueberry Boy Scouts. Hopefully we get some more non-Ultramarine cosmetics down the line, like special helms or armor adornments, but I unfortunately highly doubt we’ll get anything specifically relating to another chapter’s lore.
The amount of times I wish you threw grenades when there were perfect moments to throw them into hordes 😂😅. Other than that, what a nail bitter. Good job

Yeah facial customization would be awesome at some point, a lot of chapters have their own unique cultures, I want to be an emo Raven Guard with an early 2000s haircut, others may want to be a Blood Angel or Ultra Marine with glowing skin and blond curls, and of course being a Salamander would be awesome

I mean it could already be in game since this is a preview build which is generally an older build of the game. But technically we are playing as ultramarines who are cosplaying as their cousins.

Ah yess. Flying up into the air for all of 1 second do you can ground slam the floor 10 feet beneath them. Truly the most effective of attacks! Why didn't he think of that?!
From what we see in the campaign, we MIGHT be able to do that. The jump packs there are capable of limited hovering, but this feature seems to be absent in multiplayer for balance purposes. (Idk if the hovering is strictly lore accurate or not, I’ll have to check.)

@@maxducks2001 I saw some footage of hovering to shoot in multiplayer, might be a later unlock in the skill tree? Or something with a weird input to activate that isn't explained in the tutorial. Either way though, haven't seen anyone do hovering melee, so might not work out that way regardless.

THIS. i want to customise my fellow marines as i usually enjoy playing these type of games solo. having a uniform squad would be amazing. though tbh, being able to customise their classes would be great too (could be too OP potentially? but they could limit it in numerous ways!) so hyped for this game, can't wait for when it comes out :3
I've gotta say, within a year of release I'd like them to add second founding chapter skins. We need Lamenters, Flesh Tearers, Iron Drakes, Raptors, Crimson fists etc.
So many cool designs will go to waste if not.
I want a large variety of emblems that aren't chapter specific for custom chapters
Really really hope at some point after launch they add the option to change lens colour, otherwise all this customization looks fantastic

Can’t play salamanders or raven guard/bloodangels atm without a full helm. It’s just one head type.
Gun colours too, seems crazy not being able to colour my bolter red!

Really hoping to see a Tyrant Guard ingame as a really sturdy and tanky miniboss for the Tyranids that could also come in pairs or something.

Also, it's gonna be my main class+chapter combo for obvious reasons.
Taking health damage isn't actually as big a deal, so long as you keep swinging, parrying and executing. The white health that remains after getting hit is "Contested." So if an enemy hits you and you hit him back, some of that health is returned to you. The amount of health returned increases with more enemies hit. So if a horde hits you, swing once into it and you get your health back. So the strategy of swinging into a horde is viable, and the right one when using a class like assault. Not to mention, executing enemies seems to return ALL contested health, as well as a shield segment. Your best defense is being offensive. Don't get psyched out when getting swarmed. Just prioritize buzz sawing and cutting them down. Get those parries on the blue attacks, and you'll be just fine.

You keep double-tapping the stunned warriors, but doing an execution on them regens a bar of armor.
i really wish the Blood Angels optic color green or teseract glow green like the miniatures painting. the red on red is kinda off.

Finally someone who parries the hormagaunts! SO excited to play this. Looks like hitting all the quicktime events, and parrying are the keys to being effective in melee. Gotta keep headshot countering, parrying, and executing for armour

We need helmet eye color changes, and power sword on assault. Heck, the captain with jump pack mini uses a power sword. My blood angels need this.

I can’t wait for this ! I loved space marine and played it a lot both campaign and multiplayer ! Also I have loved many of the warhammer 40 k games ! Although I’ve never played the board game , I love everything I’ve experienced in this world. So I’m excited to finally play this sequel to a great game

@@themrlupo3591they're a little unstable, they can become blood drunk which is basically a frenzy and kill everything. If you want heroes go salamanders or ultramarines
Blood Angels are one of the best chapters to get as reinforcements. They care about civies and do their best to keep their urges in check.

Play as a Heavy of the Salamanders. Or Space Wolf

The blood angels are my second most favorite chapter. There colors a great, and there noble struggle with the red thirst while retaining the angelic nobility of there primarch for ten thousand years is impressive.

While it is still an unleveled class, it does seem like Assault has some fundamental problems in the preview build's gameplay loop. The jump pack is slow to recharge and offers only a marginally useful AOE ability, attacking in melee isn't any faster or more advantageous compared to other classes, secondary ammo isn't enough to deal with flying or otherwise overly dangerous enemies from afar.
I agree honestly. I think if they want to make it the assault marine ability they should halve the time it takes to recharge. I think there are perks that increase the recharge rate but for level 1 it seems too punishing
He doesn't use flight as an advantage, you can shoot while hovering and I believe throw nades, he doesn't use squad commands at all, and overall he still got through the level being fairly bad at the game with nothing good unlocked...wtf do you really want jc...

It's alright man. I think the sniper class comment was a response to Luke Stephen's opinion that the class should be removed from the game.
It's honestly been pretty wild watching all the content creators who have gotten their hands on it, play it. Everyone's "play style" seems so different, it's pretty all over the place. Knowing that you can run the sniper with a bolt gun that isn't the sniper version, I wanna use the bombs to set traps for the bigger enemies and focus smaller targets with the guns and knife combo. :)

@@GameRiot Yeah, quite a few content creators were straight hating on the class thinking it's useless and shouldn't be a thing. Guaranteed revives with them up will never not be handy. As for the whole perk system, yeah you kind of can't use the actual snipers much at the beginning until you get certain perks because of low ammo. If you do, I fell you need other players and you're just setting up executes for them.

September can't come soon enough. This will easily be my new main game that I keep coming back to over and over. It pretty much as everything you could want. Single player story, Co-op missions, pvp, and crossplay. Only thing I'm not sure about is if you have to be online in order to do the single player story.
I feel like you should be able to see the armour of your teammates, so you can decide better if they want to execute an enemy or not
Really enjoyed the stealth attack,with which you responded with the attack from the sky ..like ..okay ..that's a nice trick,wanna see mine.
The breakdancing mechanic is superb.

Maybe try using the hammer loadout more, it's GREAT to deal with massive amounts of enemies due of it's AOE.
The jetpack dodge instead of aerial strike could be beneficial to melee playstyles, especially since some perk rewards you by recharging a charge of jetpack when you do a perfect dodge like that, more dmg etc...
I want flamers soo bad o;;;. And maybe in the future some chapter/legion lead missions like a whitescar hit and run mission where they can use land speeders would be so cool
Left 4 dead absolutely killed these types of horde games for me. I wish I was as excited as the rest of you guys

You were truckin, you would have been full on armor the whole time but I think you were double tapping the counter-free shot instead of executing for the i-frames and free armor
I would also like to see more chapter specific customization options going forward. Put some Black Templar tabards on the assault class and I can recreate the very first mini I ever painted.

Compared to the first game, you're quite limited in your take offs. However, the tactic of grouping up the enemies on you, throwing a grenade at your feet and then taking off and then landing on the survivors should still work. Also don't be afraid to shoot enemies as you fly. Assault isn't supposed to be bogged down in melee, that's bulwarks job. Assault is to hit hard, hit fast, get out of melee repeat.

2:40 The lad was likely directing that at Luke Stephens, but if you felt caught by it, he has a point. His sniper gameplay is impressive, as is any of his SM2 videos, and his observations on how sniper is meant to be a support class for front liners is astute in my opinion. Skill variance is nothing to be ashamed of, but doing the funny mong voice and disregarding what he had to say makes it worse.

Blood angels typical favor the plasma pistol in their assault troops cause them bolt pistols don't do ish xD. Good playthrough! Cant wait to play!!
Also, it would be great to be able to practice against targets, like in the Feats mode. Solo vs a Carnifex or several warriors, etc
