I was one of them who played it. All I can say I was and still am dissapointed to what Ubisoft did to the series. Tanner was supposed to be a badass detective and Jericho a badass gangster and not a regular criminal. The game was fine but if they made it possible to use guns at least through the window like in Driver Parallel Lines, this game would have been much better.

Hearing this tune blasting on the menu was just something special; it was the spark that brought me the confidence I need to go on my day again despite what I faced in the past. I want film made by this game, and it must be main theme of the film DRIVER. I swear to God, it will be awesome seeing Tanner and his car on TV in a movie.
I am currently playing this game for the first time ever despite being a die hard driver fan since i first played driver 2 on ps1 i fell in love. Some challenge missions hit hard in the feelings trying to mimic the old driver vibes and atmosphere, classic cars only, no super power bar, and fixed music that sounds similar to driver 2.

Boy have I news for you. Try driver 1 and 2 after you played this one the physics are even closer to that movie. But that PSOne difficulty is soul crushing. it’s like the earlier games want you to speedrun them.

Completed it some hours ago and now I´m (finally) finished with the whole Driver series. Completed (but not started) in the release order. Driver Parallel Lines (first playthrough with godmode cheat for the Bishop mission many years ago, now without any), Driver 2 with SaveStates (epsxe emulator) for some missions, maybe I do a second playthrough without them xD
I finished this game years ago.. But deleted the save file 🤦♂️ Then I got to that highway gas truck mission on the same console.. And then a few months ago finished it on the xbox one. I wish it was longer.
I feel like this game’s main missions are a bit on the easy side compared to the previous games. And that’s coming from someone who used the shift mechanic only when necessary. It’s kind of Alan Wake the more I play it the shorter it gets.
Such an excellent game! I have a flash drive (16GB) thats just large enough to hold a pirated version of the game, hacked by Skidrow. The weirdest thing about it is that on modern windows it can only be run once. After that it errors out or makes your pc BSOD. No joke! It's a tradition for me to run it on every new computer I get. Then I have to uninstall it since it wont work anymore.
Just like with Driver 1, I've had the same great experience, playing this absolut gem of a game in the early 2010's and still today occasionally. I'm usually not a fan of american media at all, but for Driver 1 and San Francisco, I've had to make an exception. It's so stereotypical, but does it such a classy fashion. From the story, to the visualy, to the 70' car chase cinematics being put into the gameplay, to the awfully-good soundtrack - I've enjoyed every minute of it and still do. Also, Tanner is absolutely my man. If I found myself in his movie-esque scenarios, I could see myself handling things the same. I'm litteraly him. Anyways, great serie.
