- The Yamaha Tenere offers a back-to-basics approach to middleweight adventure-bike life, and I've spent the past couple of weeks riding one. Join me for a full round-up of my thoughts, focusing mostly on tame greenlaning, with a bit of on-road action too. Does it excite? Would it tempt you into the world of getting muddy feet? Find out all this amongst some giggles and heavy breathing…

Nice review..super happy with my T7, it really is a do everything bike for me, green lanes, trips back and forth to Ireland, Sunday hooning around..plus occasional work commute duties. It's a fab bike! Cheers Steve
I watch 30 Moto TH-cam channels. Tim, You are easily the funniest and most entertaining. Thank you very much for making me laugh!
And thank you for the very kind comment! I do really appreciate it!
Funny. I wrote “3” channels but it was supposed to say 30.
The Y T7 is at the limit of controllability and competence in real competitive dirt tracking in controllable size, weight and power and does things that were only possible by smaller, lighter and more agile bikes; In its latest version, the suspensions raised the height of the seat and the T7, while still tall, became a nightmare for short people with short legs...hahaha🇧🇷👍
ohh man , i love T7 !!
Beautiful trails there !
Cheers from Greece !
Cheers!
Cycled along that track a number of times as a kid... and once or twice in my old suzuki vitara before they put the gates in. ( and it used to be much much more off roady back in the day, then the NT smoothed all the tracks out to discourage off roaders)
It ended up getting torn up by too many 4x4 types building new obstacles. It was impassable in the end!
It’s a very nice bike ..I would prob never buy one ,but I do think they are pretty cool looking when I pass them
That house at 9:10 wow Sooooo nice 👍🏾
The chap with the California used to have a Boxster. I thought that was a brave choice for living there, that he got a Ferrari 👀
I’ve looked at that blue house too. It’s just around the corner from where I grew up 💰
Sounds good, looks nice, seen them doing crazy things with the right rider on board, but I'm too short for this at 168cms.
I'm 1.75, lowered mine and never looked back.
T7 is great, just keep going, top heavy yes, but it´s ok.
Nice one, Numa-no-kaibutsu 👍
Arigato!
The word you’re looking for is “ Godzilla” 😆. PS: TMI about the “steaming log” 💩😱!
I hate those OEM tires. But I love my T7.
The old knobbly tyres 😂
How many people actually ride their new bike off-road? Most of what you said makes it great off-road compromises it on the road - 21” front wheel, tubed wheels, soft brakes, lofty seat height, poor weather protection etc. The Tracer 7 would probably be a better bike for the majority of riders.
I ride my bikes off road but I compromise on tyres. My Tiger Rally Pro runs on Trailmax tyres which are great on dry lanes, not so great on mud. But my proper dirt bikes have proper knobblies and a single cylinder. On knobblies the Tiger is pretty reliable in mud and filth but a very different proposition to my 701 and a different planet to my FE501. It's all a compromise. Tyres, weight, cylinders. You just take a choice. The Tiger is a smooth, fast and comfortable road bike which can do gravel and easy lanes in a heartbeat. With a bit of planning and experience it'll take you through snot, filth and slimy climbs and descents.
less electronics than your nans coffin..... but more than my 2004 blade 🤣
T7 in Greece price 11600 euro 💶!! The explorer 12600!!
Once you've converted from EUR to GBP that's the same price as the UK
I test rode the rally version,the white one.i am 5.10.my god,the wind noise,over 60-70 mph,too loud!i coulnd stand it.the seat wooden and the suspention too firm.is this version,the standart,the same?if it is no thanks
ok all .....good but why not to give half price and and buy a used f800gs? i mean they are so similar...
Yeah possibly - I’ve only ridden the new F900GS offroad (video coming soon), and it suited me more than the Tenere… but it was also £14000 😂
Sold my F800GS for my T7 - specs are similar, but the T7 just felt ready to rip while the GS felt sluggish and needed more revs to access the power.
Also… reliability and cost of maintenance.
@@-MORK- ofc it would be better it’s 10 years younger..
But price wise it’s not a big difference if you want to save money and get a second hand..
But reliability? It’s very decent
