here's my unsolicited advice.. If you look for watermelons that are pretty sun bleached and have a huge yellow spot, those are going to be the ripest and sweetest ones! I saw how dark green this one was and thought "uh oh" haha.. There wasn't a lot of flesh in it and the white riney part was super thick which tells me that melon needed more time in the sun! Anywho, the cake turned out SO cute regardless!❤Great idea

Hi Allison, I wanted to share a tip on peeling kiwis. I use a potato peeler instead of a knife and find that I don’t lose as much of the fruit with the peel.
Love your little book nook. Decorating it for every season is going to be fun. Put a little more children’s books I’m sure you will get some very appreciative children coming by. You are a great inspiration to all young women out there. Keep up the great videos you put out.

The trick I use to pick watermelon it’s to pick the one that has the bigger yellow spot, it works every time for super sweet watermelons

By the way, just a tip for choosing a sweet, juicy watermelon...you want to look for a watermelon that has a good yellowish spot where it looks like it was sitting for a bit, the stripes should be wide, and a creamy, pale yellow color. It should be heavier than it looks like it would be, and when you knock on it, it should sound pretty hollow.
(Hopefully that will help a little when you go to pick out your next watermelon this season!) And I hope you make another watermelon cake, it turned out so cute, even if it wasn't the most perfect melon.

Love the little library decorations. I have had a watermelon now and then like that. They are not very tasty. Usually just make something like watermelon juice and add other things to use it up. Only the last few years have I seen watermelons like that. Always had pretty good ones before. Very unusual. Loved the summer celebration. God Bless.
For perfect watermelons, try the 2 finger method. The dark stripes should be 2 finger width apart 😊 love your videos and vibe so much ❤❤

When picking a watermelon, I usually look for one that has the biggest yellow spot. The yellow spot forms on the side of the watermelon that was directly on the ground. So the bigger the spot, the longer it was on the ground so it has a higher chance of being sweet.
Great video and the little library looks adorable. Not sure if you have checked out the dollar tree but they have some cute coastal decor as well as a decent book selection. 😊
One way to tell if a watermelon is sweet is to pick one that has a lot of the lines and grooves on the outside rind.

Im not sure if this suggestion may be too much but I think if you add a bag of water with sand in it taped to the back of the door of your little library ...it will add a water element.

As someone from the uk I’ve never liked melon and I thought that was cos I just don’t like the taste but I had some in the Mediterranean (it wasn’t watermelon it was honeydew I think) on holiday and now I realise that melon in the uk and in general are almost different species cos in the uk melon just tastes like off water.

My Fiéncé and I have at Pipen mansion in Kentucky, the 400Gest...for Marriage reception and a weeks stay, $181 per night. My hair is most likely and up style. So pearl and diamond Tiara. One month for saving the dates..but the bannes 1month before Muir Chapel in Kentucky...I can still be at home each day even from Pipen Mansion...🤍
