I was born and raised in Malaysia but never experienced any racism... I'm living in UK but not because I moved for a better life... My partner is British... My family still lives in Malaysia and they have a very good life and happy... The Malaysian politicians are racist but not the people... I'm not saying some people won't experience racism in Malaysia but unfortunately racism exist in every country, including UK

I was born and raised in malaysia. Now i'm living in New Zealand and been started a new life. I did face racism, but it took sometime to eased me up and it not that bad actually until i earned my respect from other races and the majority race through my hardwork and being honest in general. Even so, i'm sure malaysia will change in the future if they change their attitude and character for not being racism and favouritism. Racism and favouritism would bring to any country and nation down. It doesn't matter where. I would say yes racism is everywhere but in malaysia whether in terms of politic or in general, malaysia is the 2nd rank most racist in the world after South Africa.

I think you should look at the age groups and actual numbers . Those migrants to M'sia are retirees and the migrants out of M'sia are far younger, students and professionals . In short by numbers in volume, skill sets and ethnicity it's a brain drain for Malaysia.

I saw where you were coming from and I am a Malay who gets assimilated to other cultures due to my strong needs and desires to make progress in life. Once you see the world differently to them, everything seems so awkward, that you cannot even bring yourself for a small talk with them. This situation also led to other many - many issues that are soo taboo to bring up here. Just hopeful that I will get to prove my worth elsewhere sometime in the future.

Im malay too i find that i cant connect with my own race. They just have so different view about the world, mostly racist one and they never open their eyes to the outside world. I just find it hard to live in Malaysia mostly because ppl here(malay) have so many sensitive issues and if one topic contain about religion it will become taboo and to not be discuss at all. Also lack of freedom here is making me feel trapped, i hate it when ppl here cant accept that some Muslim are not that religious, and still find their own way to god. They are so intolerant and if they find one Muslim that doesnt wear hijab for example, it will be like this girl is one of the kafir. Most ppl here also will treat those sinners like the girl above as an outcast, spreading things like “this girl must not be a virgin anymore” “she is a bad muslim, not wife material” that can destroyed someone reputation. Funnily enough, It is haram to gossip or say bad things to others, but muslim here being ignorant about that and keep doing it like they are “holier than thou” 🤷🏼‍♂️

Most of the immigrants who wants or wished to go back or sent their family back in here are pretty much came from Malay Muslim families, they tend to be uncomfortable with raising their children in more liberal environment and worrying that their children will be detached from their home country culture. Most of Malay Muslim migrate solely because of economic incentive.
Unlike the rest majority of immigrants which majorly compromise of non Malay or non Muslim, they escaped due to social pressure from the Malaysian society and they pretty much comfortable in their new country.
