Those pots and pans are not supposed to be used on gas stoves, only induction and electric stoves. That's why they are getting all the black stuff at the bottom.
I think the metal on the bottom of the pan has a reaction with the flame on your stove. or maybe when the metal is heated it ends up with a residue. Never seen that before.
Hi Laurie & PooDoo! Sorry that happened. Was going to say bring them back to TJ Maxx, but you said they wouldn’t take them back. I had a set of TFal back in the day, loved them. There’s was one TFal pot that made rice perfect, no sticking, and fluffy. I now have stainless steel pots. Would like to get another set of TFal. Take care.
Induction cookware is designed for use with induction cooktops, which use electromagnetic waves to generate heat. I have an induction stove top and it requires special induction pots/pans.

I just wanted to let you know that for TJ max and Home goods I put in my email when paying and get a paper and a email receipts . just incase you loose your paper receipt
Wow unbelievable ! I sure don’t need that in my life. Today I was in my pantry I went to get something and my olive oil fell out on the floor. The lid popped off. Got all over me my clothes on my shelves on my floor. What a mess…… 😧 I’ll be 66 in December and I sure don’t need that . Why don’t they put the lid where it screws tight I mean that stuff‘s expensive, so put a good top on it . I hope I can get it out of my clothes, I put powder on it first to soak in where it takes most of the oil out and then I’ll wash them real good so sorry about your pans Lorie That’s a pain. They look nice though but not worth it. ❤
Oh, Laurie I hope your t-fal pans work. I have the exact same set and I hate them my handles come off, and everything sticks to them, not at first but they do now, (my pans still look brand new on the inside) Before I got the red t-fal set I had the purple set and they were great!
Hi Laurie , Your new pot and pans are beautiful! Those old ones were bizarre! I’ve never seen that before 😳 I use Cuisinart stainless steel and also cast iron. I have one non stick pan for when I fry eggs because I still haven’t gotten the knack of fried eggs on stainless steel 😆
That's what I use too. I got the Cuisinart SS pots at TJ Maxx. I replace the one non stick when it gets marked up after a few years. Love the cast iron too.
