I have been looking for years, trying to find an entertaining space engineers series. Most I find either get discontinued, are not entertaining after the first two episodes, jump around with no real "goal" or plan for the series/builds, or eventually break down to people whinging about bugs or issues with SE. You two have made my day and earned a new sub from me. Thank you very much, I love the obvious hard work and effort you two put in, as well as to see two players who get along so well.

But at least I didn't find the drop a live warhead while driving event. But don't get me started on the random Piston Lift not being level event.
Free salvage that they can take with them. Install a grinder on piston to extend along the length of the trailer, and call the wagon the Catcher's Mitt. Catch and repeat disassembly.

I really want to get it, as soon as possible, but to do that I have to get a better PC, so it'll be a few months before I can get it ;-;. Really love your videos, all of them! if you put the setting down to all there lowest settings Space Engineers will play on a 5 year old non gaming laptop that cost only $300 and be able to run OBS in the background as well, but if you go with the max settings then from what i understand even the best gaming desktops have trouble running it. so keep that in mind when you do get it and make sure ALL graphic settings are set to the lowest sure it does not look as good but its better then your computer trying to melt itself.
Mac is definitely the guy that knows how to get SE running against all odds :) I'm glad we make it look like the fun that it is, hopefully you'll be able to get into the game soon!

I really should, but it's hard to set up the rotor limits since the server doesn't show the angle changing on the rotors - and I won't know by looking at the rotor whether it's in positive or negative which makes me nervous to adjust the limits :/ The C shall return! ...eventually ;)
Splitsie There is a little line thing on the rotor's head (Unless maybe it's an advanced rotor?), so you could figure out where zero is. The rotor also won't do anything strange if it's outside its lock range, I think it just won't turn any further outside it, so you could even use that and the warning message to figure out its angle. Or, you could have a script display it.
If you move the limits to underneath it's current position the rotor attempts to snap to that with maximal force which can end explosively - it's one of the few guaranteed clang incidents left these days :P
Splitsie I haven't experienced it lately; whenever I move the limits to a position the rotor isn't in, it just says it will be locked when it goes back within the limits, no force of any kind is exerted to get it there.
If you add wheels that are on suspension to the front of the Rover you can use them as bumpers. Wheels with suspension instantly knock down trees without slowing you down. Works great.
And here I thought that you said Capac was worse and bring Clang than Weggie, from the looks of this one I would have to beg to differ at least with those driving skills lol, Great and always my freind

It's Rdav's missile guidance script - the script is great, but my setup is not :P I think I'm going to scrap the missile bay and wait till we have a fighter before I make another one

You should have just used a aerial cargo ship kind of like an aircraft carrier but for land vehicles so you could still have mining vehicles and tanks and assault vehicles as well as the main ship which would be your main base
Some thoughts! You should add large Fucking Grinders / drills to your big machine.,. The large drills could cud rotate through meteor from stored to 90 Degrees in few minutes. Splitsie has grinders on pistons. Most of pieces will fit under under body. Suggest wall of grinders rotates into place. You could drive thru long pieces. 1. Gatling turrets. Armor is needed on all sides & welders. 2. You are collecting missle ammo & NOT USING IT. Missle turrets shred small drones on single shot. You need missle turrets with drones. 3. Interior turrets & should be recycled into gattling/missle turrets . .4 You need more turrets. You can put 5 on a junction. Normally with these turrets there is 3 block min spacing in same plane. Doesn't apply to right angles. Works well against drones. 5. I use armor boxes around conveyer pipes.. Half height blocks & catwalks r useless protection against guns. 6. Splitsie has "Sandbox" Gatling gun / decoy devices. These r gud defence / base attack weapon. He prints these in seconds in his other survival series. 7. He has grinder/mining/drone ships. His small gatling gun ship drone shreds drones.It wud b better with to maximze guns instead of 2. Means add guns till cant fly. Stuck a turret on top. Be awesome with 4 gun & missle turret. A mix of 2 gats & 2 missle would be awesome. Seconds to print . 8. The drone plants have 600 m range. His gat gun drone has 800 m. It can take out these plants. 9. I caught a nasty Drifting Pursant ship. Its heavy, tuff, unused payload capacity. I stuck 4 gats on top & bottom. (8) Tried with some turrets also. Used it for bomb drops. 10. U need dozens to hundreds of Stock weapons 4 defense against space rocks, drones, cyperlife. It's doable but sucks up time & resources. You need tank guns & real AA weapons. I like the "Battle Cannons and Turrets, Supercharged, OKI Grand Weapons Bundle redux, DX11)Laser Turret. The laser is weak , but has nice range. A few dozen can weaken destroy fighters. My fav AA gun is the boffers gun & [MWI]Telion - Anti-Fighter Turret(Gen2). Some canon turrets can track & aircraft. I stuck some on a base, truck, s& ship. Quite effective. You need to check max settings after installs. 11. Stilsies ships r tuff, functional & underarmed. His solo base is under protected. He used the refinery productuvity from pirate base as a decoration instead of instaling it. He put decorative catwalks around his gun turret rather than armor blocks. These get ramaged every attack. Shud be circle of heavy armor blocks. 12. stilsie has big fucking truck trailer. uenuff 4 pirate base. 13. SE has fusion reactors that run on tritium 4 low uraniam worlds. You need hyrogen. This grabs this out first from ice. This is scalable. more ice around.Assorted sizes. longer lasting than uranium. There r powerul fusion thrusters & ammo . Fond of tritim gatling turret & missles. Hydro Reactors & Ice to Oxy Hydro Gasses V2
Loving the episode once again. Absolutely hilarious watching you guys at times. I just got to space in my game playing the scenario and the roids seem to have more recources tgen they should. Finding cobalt and ice on mine so I will have to roleplay that one for now. Loving the encounters in space too, bring guns, large guns, lots of large guns...... 😎
There were some comments on the discord that someone was having the same trouble, but a removal and then adding the scarce resources mod again fixed it up - that might be worth a try And a jump drive so you can run, run as fast as you can ;)

Oh, by the way Splitsie. I noticed in one episode that you did not have shared inertia tensioning on the rotor for the missile launcher it may stop that really annoying bouncing. It makes me cringe thinking it is going to make one explode. Well to late, it did. ;p
I think I did set it up eventually, sadly the jittering seems to come from server/client desyncs despite this being run on a lan :/ Sadly I think the missile launcher is going to be a thing of the past - mounting it on the trailer may not have been my smartest move :P
The hinge mod is probably not going to get added, other than making for smaller hitches I can't see any particular role for them than can't be filled by vanilla blocks. For the mods I like them to add something aesthetic or functional that can't be done another way :)

That was mainly server/client desync which is about the same, you can get it better by having one player local host these days, but dedicated servers are still pretty similar to this

No, the bases that you see spawning are done so with multiple mods. Lucas/Meridius IX is the (in my opinion) king of NPCs for SE and he's written a few spawning mods for bases, cargo ships, encounters and even a boss system most recently. Using his mod that does that, plus a pack of bases I made for his mod we get the bases spawning on the planet :)
Splitsie I kind of hope you don't learn it, it is far more entertaining to watch things go horribly wrong anyway. One lesson you did learn quickly was not to get results with your grinder... the Goose was an effective teacher indeed!
Well I don't mind the Aussie slang. I saw Crocodile Dundee 1 and 2. So I learned a little then. Though it was Hollywood and scripted. So Aussie slang away. I love the accent. I am from the south so you Aussies probably would have a harder time understanding me than I have you.
It comes out every now and then, but for the most part it'll make sense from context anyway ;) Though I'm sure there are some examples I could come up with that would be archaic enough to throw off a good few Aussies :P
Maybe it's better to put the wheels on the trailer closer to the back, that should make it more stable, especially when you will be adding more trailers. It will stop it bottoming out when you go over dips like that. The support is then the rotor at the front and the wheels at the back.
Unlikely, since then you have the wheels scrubbing becoming an issue, most of the jittering is just minor desync problems that aren't a worry, the jack-knifing is more related to using the subgrid wheel control script and the trailer wanting to get ahead of the tractor :P
Splites Please use Terminal Cleaner, You will find it Really usefull. I recommend turning off its ability to hide cargo containers but aside from that, it will name all the things.. meaning there Grid name. so the "Tank" should be named something not "small grid xxxx" if you do that it will even name your missile stuff, so you can set a timer to launch each one. that turns on its thrusters. - you will have less shakyness if you do that. *peace out bro*
I don't know if this is just an issue with your collection being out of date, but you've got the wrong Defense Shields mod. That one's out of date, and the author's uploaded a new version as a separate entry on the workshop. Also, I believe it is literally impossible to get directly hurt hitting a tree. Heck, I've survived massive falls by landing on a tree, resulting in no damage to the grid (Though a small ding to the environment). Oh, and if that missile script works how the other turret-based one I use does, you can just manually point the turret in the right direction to get the missile going, because it just goes in the direction the turret is facing, not actively tracking the target. If it continually relays the turret's direction, you could still manually guide it. If it's somehow based on the target's position without using camera ray-tracing, then that seems weird.
actually you can get killed by trees but you have to hit them directly in a certain spot or you just pass right through them and only while there still attached to the ground (they appear to have a very narrow collider box) once they break off then they loose there collider box completely. also if the vehicles suspension hits a tree in just the right spot the vehicle can get flipped and explode but if that spot on the suspension gets missed then its the trees that suffer.
MacGabhann Yeah, you yourself can get killed easily by slamming in to a tree, but your grids won't. That's why I specified 'directly hurt', your vehicle flipping and crash-landing isn't direct damage from the tree.
That evil ground, always getting in the way after a good tree flinging :P I think the collection is out of date since I only remembered to update the scenario on the workshop - should probably get around to that at some point :/
actually small grids will get damaged if they hit the tree just right I I have had a few vehicles lose armor blocks and some lose entire wheels from hitting a tree yet for large grid that is true large grid does not get damaged at all

What is your objective? Mind you, I'm not complaining, I like the footage, however I was wondering. Do you guys have one? Or is it casually strolling down the countryside, shooting the occasional drone?
We mentioned it very briefly in the first episode - we need to build a uranium processing and resupply station above the alien planet. There are a large number of obstacles to overcome in order to set that up - first, because of the scarce resources mod we can only find platinum on mars, gold on the moon and uranium on the alien planet and second because of Lucas's drones that are going to make doing anything in space a big challenge ;)
It's a sync issue with the server, my PC keeps updating and then thinking it's somewhere else, then the server updates it and so on, this means that for the most part the shaking in that instance, while distressing, is mostly harmless :)
To get those controls you need to use the Text HUD API mod with Build Vision, I'd recommend Build Vision 2 since there it's a newer version that adds some nice extra functions :)
I find it odd that your vehicle has achieved levitation at such a young age. Even more so because it is a machine. Gravity magic isn't easy to use, though it can be devastating. Like Anthony's Gravity Bomb, a howling sphere of death that devours all within its reach.

boulders are kinda small compared to your mobile base. Still not sure why you didn't just slap a few fixed drills to the front to mow over most boulders collecting most of the resources.

The rotor also won't do anything strange if it's outside its lock range, I think it just won't turn any further outside it, so you could even use that and the warning message to figure out its angle.
Or, you could have a script display it.
If you move the limits to underneath it's current position the rotor attempts to snap to that with maximal force which can end explosively - it's one of the few guaranteed clang incidents left these days :P

I haven't experienced it lately; whenever I move the limits to a position the rotor isn't in, it just says it will be locked when it goes back within the limits, no force of any kind is exerted to get it there.

If you add wheels that are on suspension to the front of the Rover you can use them as bumpers. Wheels with suspension instantly knock down trees without slowing you down. Works great.
But I have so much fun listening to Capac scream every time we hit one ;)

You should have just used a aerial cargo ship kind of like an aircraft carrier but for land vehicles so you could still have mining vehicles and tanks and assault vehicles as well as the main ship which would be your main base

Some thoughts! You should add large Fucking Grinders / drills to your big machine.,. The large drills could cud rotate through meteor from stored to 90 Degrees in few minutes. Splitsie has grinders on pistons. Most of pieces will fit under under body. Suggest wall of grinders rotates into place. You could drive thru long pieces.
1. Gatling turrets. Armor is needed on all sides & welders.
2. You are collecting missle ammo & NOT USING IT. Missle turrets shred small drones on single shot. You need missle turrets with drones.
3. Interior turrets & should be recycled into gattling/missle turrets

.4 You need more turrets. You can put 5 on a junction. Normally with these turrets there is 3 block min spacing in same plane. Doesn't apply to right angles. Works well against drones.
5. I use armor boxes around conveyer pipes.. Half height blocks & catwalks r useless protection against guns.
6. Splitsie has "Sandbox" Gatling gun / decoy devices. These r gud defence / base attack weapon. He prints these in seconds in his other survival series.
7. He has grinder/mining/drone ships. His small gatling gun ship drone shreds drones.It wud b better with to maximze guns instead of 2. Means add guns till cant fly. Stuck a turret on top. Be awesome with 4 gun & missle turret. A mix of 2 gats & 2 missle would be awesome. Seconds to print

8. The drone plants have 600 m range. His gat gun drone has 800 m. It can take out these plants.
9. I caught a nasty Drifting Pursant ship. Its heavy, tuff, unused payload capacity. I stuck 4 gats on top & bottom. (8) Tried with some turrets also. Used it for bomb drops.
10. U need dozens to hundreds of Stock weapons 4 defense against space rocks, drones, cyperlife. It's doable but sucks up time & resources. You need tank guns & real AA weapons. I like the "Battle Cannons and Turrets, Supercharged, OKI Grand Weapons Bundle redux, DX11)Laser Turret. The laser is weak , but has nice range. A few dozen can weaken destroy fighters. My fav AA gun is the boffers gun & [MWI]Telion - Anti-Fighter Turret(Gen2). Some canon turrets can track & aircraft. I stuck some on a base, truck, s& ship. Quite effective. You need to check max settings after installs.
11. Stilsies ships r tuff, functional & underarmed. His solo base is under protected. He used the refinery productuvity from pirate base as a decoration instead of instaling it. He put decorative catwalks around his gun turret rather than armor blocks. These get ramaged every attack. Shud be circle of heavy armor blocks.
12. stilsie has big fucking truck trailer. uenuff 4 pirate base.
13. SE has fusion reactors that run on tritium 4 low uraniam worlds. You need hyrogen. This grabs this out first from ice. This is scalable. more ice around.Assorted sizes. longer lasting than uranium. There r powerul fusion thrusters & ammo . Fond of tritim gatling turret & missles. Hydro Reactors & Ice to Oxy Hydro Gasses V2

I just got to space in my game playing the scenario and the roids seem to have more recources tgen they should. Finding cobalt and ice on mine so I will have to roleplay that one for now.

There were some comments on the discord that someone was having the same trouble, but a removal and then adding the scarce resources mod again fixed it up - that might be worth a try

Oh, by the way Splitsie. I noticed in one episode that you did not have shared inertia tensioning on the rotor for the missile launcher it may stop that really annoying bouncing. It makes me cringe thinking it is going to make one explode. Well to late, it did. ;p
I think I did set it up eventually, sadly the jittering seems to come from server/client desyncs despite this being run on a lan :/
Sadly I think the missile launcher is going to be a thing of the past - mounting it on the trailer may not have been my smartest move :P
I also recommend the conveyor hinge mod for trailer hinges
I've debated on using them for that. Do they hold up?
The hinge mod is probably not going to get added, other than making for smaller hitches I can't see any particular role for them than can't be filled by vanilla blocks. For the mods I like them to add something aesthetic or functional that can't be done another way :)

That was mainly server/client desync which is about the same, you can get it better by having one player local host these days, but dedicated servers are still pretty similar to this

No, the bases that you see spawning are done so with multiple mods. Lucas/Meridius IX is the (in my opinion) king of NPCs for SE and he's written a few spawning mods for bases, cargo ships, encounters and even a boss system most recently. Using his mod that does that, plus a pack of bases I made for his mod we get the bases spawning on the planet :)

Well I don't mind the Aussie slang. I saw Crocodile Dundee 1 and 2. So I learned a little then. Though it was Hollywood and scripted. So Aussie slang away. I love the accent. I am from the south so you Aussies probably would have a harder time understanding me than I have you.

Maybe it's better to put the wheels on the trailer closer to the back, that should make it more stable, especially when you will be adding more trailers. It will stop it bottoming out when you go over dips like that.
The support is then the rotor at the front and the wheels at the back.
I think I definitely need to get some time to do a rework of it at some point - who knows what I'll get distracted by before that happens though :P

Unlikely, since then you have the wheels scrubbing becoming an issue, most of the jittering is just minor desync problems that aren't a worry, the jack-knifing is more related to using the subgrid wheel control script and the trailer wanting to get ahead of the tractor :P

Splites Please use Terminal Cleaner, You will find it Really usefull. I recommend turning off its ability to hide cargo containers but aside from that, it will name all the things.. meaning there Grid name. so the "Tank" should be named something not "small grid xxxx" if you do that it will even name your missile stuff, so you can set a timer to launch each one. that turns on its thrusters. - you will have less shakyness if you do that.

I don't know if this is just an issue with your collection being out of date, but you've got the wrong Defense Shields mod. That one's out of date, and the author's uploaded a new version as a separate entry on the workshop.
Also, I believe it is literally impossible to get directly hurt hitting a tree.
Heck, I've survived massive falls by landing on a tree, resulting in no damage to the grid (Though a small ding to the environment).
Oh, and if that missile script works how the other turret-based one I use does, you can just manually point the turret in the right direction to get the missile going, because it just goes in the direction the turret is facing, not actively tracking the target. If it continually relays the turret's direction, you could still manually guide it. If it's somehow based on the target's position without using camera ray-tracing, then that seems weird.
actually you can get killed by trees but you have to hit them directly in a certain spot or you just pass right through them and only while there still attached to the ground (they appear to have a very narrow collider box) once they break off then they loose there collider box completely. also if the vehicles suspension hits a tree in just the right spot the vehicle can get flipped and explode but if that spot on the suspension gets missed then its the trees that suffer.

Yeah, you yourself can get killed easily by slamming in to a tree, but your grids won't.
That's why I specified 'directly hurt', your vehicle flipping and crash-landing isn't direct damage from the tree.
That evil ground, always getting in the way after a good tree flinging :P

actually small grids will get damaged if they hit the tree just right I I have had a few vehicles lose armor blocks and some lose entire wheels from hitting a tree yet for large grid that is true large grid does not get damaged at all

We mentioned it very briefly in the first episode - we need to build a uranium processing and resupply station above the alien planet. There are a large number of obstacles to overcome in order to set that up - first, because of the scarce resources mod we can only find platinum on mars, gold on the moon and uranium on the alien planet and second because of Lucas's drones that are going to make doing anything in space a big challenge ;)

Why does splitsies grid shake so violently but not explode?
It's a sync issue with the server, my PC keeps updating and then thinking it's somewhere else, then the server updates it and so on, this means that for the most part the shaking in that instance, while distressing, is mostly harmless :)
U should take one of the drifting pursuants and turn it into ur drone or comideer the thing u said u wanted to hit with ur missles
We might give it a go at some point, though they are ridiculously and unnecessarily heavy so they don't make the most efficient of vehicles :P

To get those controls you need to use the Text HUD API mod with Build Vision, I'd recommend Build Vision 2 since there it's a newer version that adds some nice extra functions :)
I find it odd that your vehicle has achieved levitation at such a young age. Even more so because it is a machine. Gravity magic isn't easy to use, though it can be devastating. Like Anthony's Gravity Bomb, a howling sphere of death that devours all within its reach.
