Great sets with the Eliminator Lure for the Caster and trap shy Beavers like you showed me. Especially the stick in currant with 10 to 15 inches of water. I almost caught every one of the educated Beaver "Harvard Colony", with the Eliminator Lure on 7 sets. In 4 days of trapping 26 Beavers taken with your method and lure used. Still trying to get the snares to work for me but to no avail. One of these days they'll pay off and I'll gain more confidence in them. With no confidence in them I don't put many snares out if at all. Going to have to change my mind set on them some how. Cause would be a good arsenal to have in my closet for sure. Thanks for the the great videos Dale. They are getting quite popular within the local/national viewers and with good reasons!!! Wish someone would have done what your doing in the mid 70's when I started. Still blows my mind how much Trapping has changed and evolved from equipment to Trappers themselves differently my early years. Now get some of the jealousy and I'm better than you attitudes on track. This lifestyle we call Trapping has a chance in the future if we all stand together as one. Cause if we don't it is going to wither away and once its gone, you'll never get it back!!! Keep on doing what your doing Dale, cause your part of the glue to put the puzzle together,THANK YOU!!!
These sets work! I have personally seen you use those sets on your line and catch beaver with them. After you showed me how to use them, I caught beaver with them too. The only draw-back to these sets is, now I have to buy more beaver lure from you this year because of these sets. Thanks!
@@kevinmeeske3412 i have cut some long river cane to try this set out , got it drying out . are you putting anything on the end of the stick to hold the lure , or just smearing on the stick?
I have shy beavers I’m trying to get with first time foothold trapping for beaver (yes I messed up a set with conibear and now they are wised up). I just got a toe rip out/ ring off because of too Light of pan pension. Talk about learning all the hard ways with a first try at foot holding beavers. Thanks to you Sir I have a source to learn what I’m doing wrong. No one over my shoulder to teach just trial and error and Mr. Billingsley on TH-cam. God bless ya.
Very good set's Dale, the stick set was in your Demo in Miles City that year. I have used that set alot and it works. It was Iowa Gold than, if I remember right. Good stuff Thanks,
Love the simplicity and efficiency of these types of sets. I remember one time on my control line the water came up really high on a levee the beavers were crossing over. There was more sign there than most people will ever have the opportunity to find. I set 5 traps and had 4 beaver and a snapped trap the next morning. Unfortunately that was my last day in the area and this was after catching over a dozen on than crossover already. The point is always set heavy for beaver. Thanks for some more solid info Dale!
Good stuff ! Im bad to go down stream 15ft or so from a lure and slick up a spot with a trap and no lure to catch them bank runners if its flat enough .
Are caster mound sets effective in early season? Other types of sets for November and December prior to ice up,have had marginal success with block down sets in feeder creeks as they aren't traveling much at this time of year. Thanks
Yes they are Mike. The difference between fall beaver vs spring beaver is that in the fall you have to go to the them. In the spring they come to you. Does that make sense to you?
PAskinner as of right now I sell directly. After the NTA Convention it will be available through Cumberland's northwest trappers supply in owattana Minnesota. You can message me through messenger or text or call me 319-217-0655. Thank you. And thank you for watching too

That doesn't hurt anything I don't think Otter Cat. It might help pick 1 up thats a bit waspy. Thank you and thank you for watching too
hey Dale how long of a stick would you use in a fast water situation ..will also try this one out this fall ..great vids you are putting out
The swifter the current the closer you need to be to the bank Eric. They're not gonna fight that heavy current

Interesting ideas, thanks. Do you sell your lures directly or through a dealer?
