This is insane. Everything about it, the music, the colors, the animation. The bit where the color fades from his eyes was so haunting. And I love the different expressions he wears when facing the Traveler > Signora > Zhongli > Teucer and how he feels differently for all of them, Traveler comradery/rivalry, Signora discontent/distrust, Zhongli friendship/companionship, Teucer love/family. You included Zhongli quite a bit in here as someone who is important to Tartaglia and I appreciate that, he is important, I think he really did view him as a friend. And man the imagery of Tartaglia growing up and joining the fatui, his delusion mode and the end where he is happy killing/fighting, such intense scenes, it's sad and cool how he is such a child soldier. I love it.
i definitely agree with everything, and the fact that its not childes fault he became a fatui harbinger, hes my favourite character and im also really happy that zhongli was included in some bits bcus i just know theyre great friends and companions that work together well

I remembered how he has really less voice lines about other characters (he even doesn’t talk about Signora neither Scaramouche) but he has two voice lines of Zhongli which makes that even though he sees Zhongli as a challenger, he also sees him as a great friend, just like how he looks at us travellers! :D
Agree, plus I want people to note all the little details that the artist took the effort to make. The first one that struck me was the cake: It has 14 candles, referencing the age Ajax life changed and became Tartaglia, it was his age when he fell into the abyss.

Shows that part of his humanity being taken away Really love what you did with the lyrics at 2:08 And where the lyrics say "I still recall that warmth" and proceeds to show a big monster eye he saw as a kid in the abyss. This aligns with his wanting to fight the monster there again

Childe is like the peak of identity crisis. People either live two lives at once, or transform gradually from this to that over years. Like Kaeya who is a Favonius Knight but also Khaenriah spy. Zhongli with many names and titles over 6000 years. Meanwhile Childe has to be so many things at once: a capable son of a large family, a loving brother, a blood-thirsty soldier, a diplomat from Snezhnaya, and a "normal guy" that enjoys good food and good performances on the street. And let's not forget that he is always on the verge of insanity due to the abyss, and he is going to die if he continues to overuse the delusion. No one in the world will know about all his suffering accept for players. Guess what is more interesting: the most tragic genshin character is right there and no one notices, because Childe acts so chill and upbeat most of the time. It makes me wonder what is going on inside this man's head.
I just want to correct in that he has no issues with using his electro delusion, the only time he receives recoil is from using his foul legacy transformation (his abyssal powers). Some characters suffer heavy drawbacks from delusions like teppei, and some don't like Diluc.
As a vision holder I don't think he's affected by his Delusion like Teppei, like Signora or any of the other Harbinger vision holders - or Diluc I think, but he's definitely a tragic figure in many ways as you said. He's up there as one of my favorite characters.
True, you would often forget that this man has one of the darkest past due to his easy going personality. I mean, when you look at xiao or shenhe, it was obvious that they had something painful happened in their past. But with childe, you won't notice that he once suffered from abyss by his looks and personality alone

thats why usually people who really understand childe absolutely love him, he is a diamond in terms of writing and character development. As badass and upbeat as one can be, yet has some of the deepest and most tragic lore surrounding him. A hero who is really not a hero. One of the loneliest yet strongest characters emotionally and mentally even if unbeknownst to everyone. Complex, rich and infinitely interesting! Give this man a hug!
This makes me think about everytime I see Childe in game or anywhere and I see his lightless eyes. It's so eerie how he can have such a big smile and such a strong spirit and yet have the most lifeless eyes. Reading his story makes it even more mysterious.
Even though Childe is memed a lot and everyone sees him as a playful person, he still has no shine in his eyes due to his dark backstory. The way he loses his shine in his eyes is so greatly portrayed in the video. Love your art and animation!
The fact you used yellow as the song and the amount of effort you put in the art really tells how good this was, I teared up. The story of yellow is a very sad story to be told and the thought you put in the art on each lyric grasped that story so tightly you couldn’t imagine that it wasn’t there in the first place. The fact that Childe’s story can collide so well with yellow’s one, really really shows how much time and hard work you put in this. These may seem like vague words but I’m not good with expressing emotions more than this aswell as the fact it’s 4am 😭, thank you so much for this piece of art you made. When he is with, for example, Traveller, is Childe, when he is with another Fatui Harbingers, is Tartaglia, and when he is with his family(Teucer, Anthon and Tonia), is Ajax. Childe is a Charismatic diplomatic, sometimes even childish, that is only present around non-fatui people. Tartaglia is The Vanguard of The Tsaritsa, a cold and heartless person that is present only around Fatui Harbingers and The Tsaritsa(Fatui ppl), and Ajax is a kind and caring kid that is only present with his little siblings. I don't think his emotions "died" in the abyss, I think the trauma made him decide to act differently on who he talk to(Ajax, Tartaglia, Childe). Hope my point of view is clear enough, I don't speak English so it is very difficult to me explain myself.

Our man Tartaglia doesn’t deserve to be one of the most memed characters in all GI. Instead he should be appreciated for the incredible person he is by overcoming his endlessly tragic and depressing past- and this masterpiece animation shows this once again perfectly. He‘s a great written character. He cares for his family (and friends) a lot. He shall live a life full of happy things, and not getting reminded to his past many times. The life in his eyes might be gone, but that doesn‘t mean he can‘t live a normal life now.
He didn't exactly overcome his trauma. When he left the abyss, he was sent to the Fatui and basically turned into a child soldier. He can only find fulfillment in battle now. I doubt it will ever be a happy or normal life, nor for him or for those around him.

@@plantyplant In the short run, maybe, but in the long run, no. His family is in danger. They're under Pulcinellas "protection". If Childe does something wrong, then happiness could quickly twist into tragedy. Childe is slowly but surely killing himself by using his delusion and Foul Legacy.
@@AliferousAngels completely true. but honestly i don't think childe will ever betray the tsaritsa. he'll probably die in some battle before 30. then pulcinella will actually have to protect his family (fallen harbinger n all). i think the older members of his family all know he's gonna die sooner or later and braced for impact already. not that great of a life objectively but... i think this the best possible outcome after the whole abyss fiasco. childe gets to die for his dreams, his family can live however they want with his wage, and they still love each other. it would obviously be great if he doesn't have to die young but with that personality he'll just run off to become an adventurer later in life without all that combat experience.

Everything about this is just perfect. It shows Childe perfectly and reflects his backstory but also his personality. The art is also really good and overall just really well put together.

1:47 this part specifically UAGH the different colored eyes (dark blue/yellow/ice blue) to signify different sides (can also be interpreted as how Childe view their relationship with each other)... and only teucer's and childe's match... after doing some minimum research on the meaning of each of these colors, i can conclude that whoever made this is a FUCKING GENIUS. the dark blue is said to represent knowledge, authority, and reliability, which make sense since only teucer and childe has it. the bright yellow (traveler/zhongli), while it is commonly associated with happiness, joy and the like, but also caution, betrayal, dishonesty, cowardice... no idea what ice blue on Signora is supposed to meant, though. or maybe im just reading too much into stuff XD
He basically fall into hell, and then come back again quite literally, yet he can still smile & keep his heart in a right place. From now on I'm gonna say this thing to whoever asks, why do you like childe.

Losing someone is hard, but for me losing yourself is much harder. That's why i kinda see why childe is what is he now, because fighting is one of the major factor that he's alive it's one that keep him from ending it all, since that hunger came from abyss the one who took his self and the one who forced him to become what is he now.
1:49 The way he faces the traveller/ other characters differs from each other. I think it likely his perspective in the Liyue Archon Quest and his Legend quest. While he face the traveller with open eyes means that they know each other actions (i don't mention the secrets they hide from each other) . The way signora look with smug and satisfied when he looks so irritated tells their colleagues relationship. With Zhongli, he closes his eyes while zhongli's still open and look straight at him indicates that Zhongli know all about Childe's plan or his role while Childe knew nothing about Zhongli's identity. The last one is with Teucer is the one whose childhood innocence is protected by Childe because Childe is the one with open eyes and Teucer smiling while closing his eyes. Just my random thought after finishing the fontaine quest and too excited for Childe and the next part. I miss him so much omgggg 😭😭😭

Our man Tartaglia doesn’t deserve to be one of the most memed characters in all GI. Instead he should be appreciated for the incredible person he is by overcoming his endlessly tragic and depressing past- and this masterpiece animation shows this once again perfectly. He‘s a great written character. He cares for his family (and friends) a lot. He shall live a life full of happy things, and not getting reminded to his past many times. The life in his eyes might be gone, but that doesn‘t mean he can‘t live a normal life now.
He didn't exactly overcome his trauma. When he left the abyss, he was sent to the Fatui and basically turned into a child soldier. He can only find fulfillment in battle now. I doubt it will ever be a happy or normal life, nor for him or for those around him.

@@plantyplant In the short run, maybe, but in the long run, no. His family is in danger. They're under Pulcinellas "protection". If Childe does something wrong, then happiness could quickly twist into tragedy. Childe is slowly but surely killing himself by using his delusion and Foul Legacy.
@@AliferousAngels completely true. but honestly i don't think childe will ever betray the tsaritsa. he'll probably die in some battle before 30. then pulcinella will actually have to protect his family (fallen harbinger n all). i think the older members of his family all know he's gonna die sooner or later and braced for impact already. not that great of a life objectively but... i think this the best possible outcome after the whole abyss fiasco. childe gets to die for his dreams, his family can live however they want with his wage, and they still love each other. it would obviously be great if he doesn't have to die young but with that personality he'll just run off to become an adventurer later in life without all that combat experience.

this is the best childe animatic there is. it's so good and captures his character so well... (and the music is also good XD)
1:47 this part specifically UAGH the different colored eyes (dark blue/yellow/ice blue) to signify different sides (can also be interpreted as how Childe view their relationship with each other)... and only teucer's and childe's match...
after doing some minimum research on the meaning of each of these colors, i can conclude that whoever made this is a FUCKING GENIUS. the dark blue is said to represent knowledge, authority, and reliability, which make sense since only teucer and childe has it. the bright yellow (traveler/zhongli), while it is commonly associated with happiness, joy and the like, but also caution, betrayal, dishonesty, cowardice... no idea what ice blue on Signora is supposed to meant, though.

Losing someone is hard, but for me losing yourself is much harder. That's why i kinda see why childe is what is he now, because fighting is one of the major factor that he's alive it's one that keep him from ending it all, since that hunger came from abyss the one who took his self and the one who forced him to become what is he now.

The way he faces the traveller/ other characters differs from each other. I think it likely his perspective in the Liyue Archon Quest and his Legend quest. While he face the traveller with open eyes means that they know each other actions (i don't mention the secrets they hide from each other) . The way signora look with smug and satisfied when he looks so irritated tells their colleagues relationship. With Zhongli, he closes his eyes while zhongli's still open and look straight at him indicates that Zhongli know all about Childe's plan or his role while Childe knew nothing about Zhongli's identity. The last one is with Teucer is the one whose childhood innocence is protected by Childe because Childe is the one with open eyes and Teucer smiling while closing his eyes.
Just my random thought after finishing the fontaine quest and too excited for Childe and the next part. I miss him so much omgggg 😭😭😭
