Hello, is this amplifier with tubes or with transistors ? Is this a good quality amplifier I mean about the sound ? What kind of sinus power has ? My son is playing on Dave Murray Seymour Duncan picups installed on a Fender Stratocaster and I am interested to fit with this amplifier. Let me know please.
I have the stage version, the 50 watt one. The first day I got it I took it without tweaking to band rehersal. It sounded bad, I was kinda sad, but kept it as a practising amp at home. A couple of days ago I had a gig and as my deluxe reverb reissue is on repair at a technician I took the nextone stage for the gig, but this time it was tweaked. I only hoped it would be OK at best, but to my pleasant surprise (and to the band's as well) it sounded amazing, full bodied, huge, organic sound, plenty of loudness. I got a lot of compliments for my sound and it was so easy to hook it up to the PA through the line out. Now I love this thing, without a doubt I will take it to the next gig whether my deluxe reverb is repaired or not, my back also will thank that :) Very underrated amp, but if you take your time and tweak it right it sounds amazing. I know that the 'special' version is better, but the small 'stage' is plenty enough for a gig, I highly recommend it!
Thanks for the video. I had the same amp and I loved. Also have other tubes amps and this is my favorite. I matched with my GX-100, it is great taking pedals.
I have it and I love it. Bit heavy to be gigged. One thing to mention is that the FX loop is placed in a strange position in the diagram, makes it a bit awkward to use it properly. But the tone, once you use it from 20w on and increase the master volume, wow…
You're not wrong about the overdrive. It leaves a lot to be desired but I still rank it about katana for how it sounds personally it just takes longer to get better sound
Roland and boss amps are simply amazing!
You have a fantastic touch and technique

Nice to see BOSS is finally catching up to the Peavey Vypyr. About time BOSS?
Good post thanks
Great amplifier indeed.

Needs more knobs
The next model they may add another row
I think you have a cat… ah ah
I checked this amp and it has a beautifull clean sound, but in my opinion overdriven sounds are better in boss katana artist.
