Congratulations are well in order for Jockey, Mr. David "Scorcher" McKenzie. At age 69??? Wow!
Maybe some day Mr. McKenzie will be able to briefly share with us the early days of thoroughbred racing in Jamaica.
Just to jog his memory a tad bit - a time when horses ran twice in a day and New Kingston as it is now known; was actually one of two racetracks on the island.
Mrs. Eileen Cliggott was also a Jockey back then from what I was told.
A very familiar racehorse in that period was one named - Tear Up.
