I've always told my kids to tell me if someone makes them feel uncomfortable and they aren't obligated to be nice to people, or affectionate with anyone, including male family members. I wish my parents listened to me but it was always no, it must be you. The thing that makes it more infuriating is I was such a shy kid, there was no way I would back talk anyone or be rude. Now all they say is why didn't you tell us?! 🙄😡
You should include female family members. Some of the creepiest things I've had happen have been by a woman - nothing too major, mainly butt squeezing, which gross 🤢 af but they always use the excuse of "what do you mean you're uncomfortable? I'm a woman" it's messed up.
Everyone's comfort level is different- some kids love hugs and tickles, others can't stand even hand holding, it's so frustrating when people get offended because you call out a adult for basically having the view of "they're a kid, they don't have any rights/I don't need to respect their body" 😬
