I remember when I watched this show when I was younger and I loved it! Then when I got to high school I realized how unhinged this show is and it’s super problematic! Thanks for the reaction!
@ it was! My favorite part was always just the makeup and photo shoot aspects, as well as the fashion in general. And I won’t lie, at the start of the ‘Demic, I rewatched a ton of seasons. And other reality shows.
This is not even the tip of the iceberg as far as ANTM's problematic shit. I never got to this part of the show but there was a deaf male model, and they did a photoshoot in the dark and then penalized him for not following instruction. So fucking awful and unfair.
The things that were just allowed to happen unchecked in the 2000s. It feels like it was a lawless wasteland. I'm still furious over them entire panel just going off on that one African model. How dare she express her heritage, right?
I think its good that we can collectively look back and use the 2000s as reference for what not to do. It was such an experimental time for TV. So much more unserious and always tried to push the line between provocative and offensive. So much of that experimentation though was at the expense of regular people. That clip upset me too!
I used to watch this show every week, I think I quit around season 5, when it just became too much. Looking back, it is horrific. I don't think anything aged well. 😆 I'm embarrassed to say that Tyra Banks was one of my role models. It's so crazy to think about what we as a society would do to people for entertainment, and just accept it. The thing that always bothered me were the heels. I think Tyra made them do that a lot and it would always freak me out. Great video as always!
As someone who does cold plunges fairly regularly, you are supposed to GET OUT when you start shivering. The fact they insisted on the girls staying in the water past their limits is cruel AF.
Oh i never watched antm but my friends would and i would just sit there, mouth open and shocked at what they would tell me was happening!! That show was absolutely unhinged and i cannot believe what they could get away with back then. Makes me also remember the biggest loser and how awful that show was too.
@@sassygrilledcheese makes sense, thanks for the answer, ive been trying to sus out how people do stuff like this in the best quality especially while both watching something together
It was such a pleasure to make this with you !! Cheers to many more and cheers to airing out Tyra’s dirty laundry again 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yes girrrl! Loved having you on my channel 😊😊😊

Tyra needs to pay for her crimes against humanity, because this show was truly diabolical at times 💀
AWFUL!
warched so much of this show with my mom. I am sooo glad so many people have come out talking about it (and Tyra) now
ugh it was so problematic!

I want your reaction to each episode of America's Next Top Model (as a series)
I don't know if I can handle that
@@sassygrilledcheese Lmao I cant hear "surprise, surprise" as regular words anymore 😭 my brain wants the fancy version

There were so many insane moments, I am not exaggerating when I say we were debating on whether or not to change the video all together!!!

I'm sat here mouth AGAPE. And I thought British 90's - 2010's reality TV was unhinged. This is crazy 😮

You talking about America’s next top model is what I needed. Y’all should react to a couple of the episodes
Hahahaha idk if my heart can take it!
Theres an ANTM episode that revolves around her YA book "Modelland". Would love to see your reactions to it. 😂
Holy crap i knew the show was problematic but... Oh god
Livi is my nickname too
Welp at least you guys are ok tho
I think the link to Livs channel is wrong? The channel it leads to only has one video thats 14 years old
I fixed it!! I don't know why it took it to that channel!?!?!?!?!?
@@sassygrilledcheese Thank you! Can't wait to check out her stuff
Question: what did you call over to record this? Discord nitro?
we did a call over discord but we both filmed with separate cameras and I edited it after.
