Used to be a popular oven in the 80s. Instead of sand, white salt may also be used.

So we do a few things similar - 1) put blue band and flour in the pot so the cake does not stick, 2) use a fork to check that the cake is done. The cake looks so good !

Hi Claire, any sand is fine. Use a heavy pot so it doesn't get burnt. Jiko is our cooking stove. The one that we have put charcoal
