07 zx14r owner in kansas, hearing you talk about emissions just makes me laugh. Brocks exhaust system, Power commander 3 to set the tune send info out for the map. Power is much smoother and starts out around 3,500 rpm. The two foot flame doesn't hurt either. The passenger always needs to buy new shoe laces anyway lol. Best all around bike ever made for sport. A two hundred mile an hour couch, that does great in the turns, silky smooth. The power still surprises me even after all these years of riding. 45,000 miles and the only repair was a fuel pump motor and lots of tires, lots and lots and lots of tires. People ask, how fast can you go in first gear, my answer is, i'm to afraid to look down to find out, If I look down I might end up on my back. By the way kansas doesn't have emissions, Best bike ever!

Having owned 5 Gen 1 Hayabusa's I took the plunge in 2020 and purchased a new ZZR1400. What a bike...The only thing I wished it had was cruise control.
2023 (January) swayed by the addition of cruise control I bought myself a Gen 3 Hayabusa, trading the ZZR in to do so. MISTAKE.
January 2024: Went to completely motorcycles in Hinckley and sat on a 2013 ZZR1400. I knew instantly it was the better bike for me.
Au revoir Hayabusa. Bon jour ZZR.....

Just a puppy at 60 I have just bought my second ZX-14R
Traded in my 2023 Hayabusa. The Kawasaki is the way better machine. I speak from experience as I have owned 6 Hayabusa and previously 1 ZX-14R.

And there's me thinking I'm middle aged at 59 and he bought his ZZR1400 as a midlife crisis at 30! Love the look of this bike, not sure I can live with the riding position.
1K on insurance would break my heart, us old gits get it cheap!

At 60 I have 4 years ncb and just insured my ZZR1400 for £255, fully comp.
I find the riding position totally comfortable. I am 5'10".

I'm getting very excited to get myself one of these. I'm currently riding a z900rs, and owned several Harleys before the Kawi, and then Honda and Yamahas before that.
I'm really having fun with the z900rs and ideally, would like to keep it and get this 1400.

MY MAN - I bought a Gen 1 ZX-14 a few months ago. Was going to sell it a few weeks later until I removed the secondary throttle butterflies and OH MY this is now my favourite motorcycle (and I have 5 others in my garage).
Gen 1 absolutely should not have been sold with those awful throttle butterflies, completely neuters the engine. Gen 2 are ok with the butterflies in apparently.
Apparently Gen 1 were so heavily castrated because Kawasaki was worried that too many people would kill themselves with this new 1400cc engine.
All I can say is remove those secondary throttle butterflies and fall in love.

I have the same PS model from late 2017 and love the performance, comfort and looks of it . Bike is garaged and well taken care of but the quality of most of the satin black paint is terrible (thin and no primer). I'm constantly having to clean/de-rust the fasteners under the fairing. The centre stand (optional extra) is horrific for rust. Doing it every few months and again this week while the wheels are off for new tyres Later will get the stands and hangers and any other bits cerakoted.
Would have bought a new one in 2020 but the bureaucrats in the EU/UK made it "incompatible with European emissions targets" so Kawasaki UK had to axe it from the range... Still available in the US though and at a good price :)

Brother, you are a great interviewer, you have the knack to get the guests to open up and get then to relax and open up, fantastic episode, a pity I never received a recommendation. Scott is a great guest.
I personally wouldn't have volunteered to pay 2k for a service, instead, I would have gone to a great mechanic that wasn't Kawasaki.
I will give an example, I had over covid, severe rat damage, I took it too my Kwak dealer, I was quoted 6k, took it too my mechanic, 2half k, they made a nest in my engine and shred almost all the wiring.
I fully agree with Scott about the power, ease of riding, especially for the weight, nailed it on the long distance vs short distance and tight short bends.
I bought, brand new the 2020 Abs version, is there room for improvement? Yes, they could have supplied a centre stand, cruise control and maybe, just my opinion, more options for traction and power, the fact that you have to stop the bike to change the controls and dear sweet Jesus, those end cans are the ugliest cans I've ever seen, you also have to buy straight away, a radiator protector. Suspension isn't great .Battery change is a bitch. However, with the zzr1400, there are great options for improvement.
INSURANCE... Dam, I paid 600 last year, for this year, I was quoted between 1800 to over 2k, I have a neighbour who has agreed for me to use his locked garage, now it's 200.Ive been riding with nearly 40 years experience, over 10 years no claims.
I've had new cans, (and took the baffles out) custom built seat. Powder coated, I'm tall 6.2 and a big lad, so I've had handle bar raisers and foot peg lowered, centre stand added, USB fitting added, coloured fly screen..
Electric bikes I'm not keen, Kawasaki are making hydrogen bikes, that maybe a great option, with great sound for the future. Electric bikes won't last forever..
The beast, the best bike in the world.. A true keeper.

Beautiful bike, as I own the Concours 2021 and they announced this year they are no longer going to make it. I was glad to get the one with green pin stripe , rather then the pink/maroon one they had on the 2022. Wonderful bike, but I took mine out to Tennessee and attempted to do the snake and got in 15 miles and did not like switchbacks and the speed and weight of the bike and I turned around. Failure to me as I needed to get to Tennessee on this bike, but I would have loved to have my W800 cafe to do that road. Nice guys. My criticism would be, your flow and feel of the video is a bit dated of 2000s TV. Not sure what entertainment style Europe has, as I am American. Love the name of the show, but transitions are a bit dated. Lastly, I really don't like the howl at the end. But it won't stop me from watching. Really like the start of the show and the wrap up with review. You have something here and enjoy the discussion and interview part as being separate. But both could be done in the same style of shot with the bikes maybe in the back ground. Just my two cents you didn't ask for.

    • @TheRhythmicBiker
      @TheRhythmicBiker ปีที่แล้ว +2

The concours are awesome bikes, very upright and practical, although is a shame you didn’t enjoy it during the snake pass, they are hefty bike so perhaps that was the main reason for it.
Thank you so much for your honest opinion, truthfully we’re glad you feel comfortable enough to share your “two cents” (over here we say five pence ) with us.

Nice one guy's these are without doubt awesome bikes and until you see one up close and personal you don't realize just how big they are , I saw one in Salisbury last week and the guy's mate was helping to get out of an awkward space impressive but big . A better looking bike I feel than the Busa from Suzuki for me though . Are these monsters going to be continued ? well I reckon the way things are going maybe not think things are changing even now with more manufacturers churning out twins with engines that fit in 3 or 4 different models with different states of tune it would be a real shame if these great bikes stopped being made , but I fear it maybe so with speed limits going down constantly and emissions getting tighter and all that crap I really hope it's not the case . 👌👍

Thank you so much for watching mate.
The ZZR’s certainly are big and impressive machines 💪
Unfortunately they have already been discontinued due to emissions getting ever tighter, they could have tried to make it work like Suzuki have bringing back the Busa but I feel like they felt it would never be the same bike.
Unfortunately the world is changing and changing fast, we might not be able to enjoy these incredibly fast and sturdy machines much longer 😢

Question i have from this video is where did you get the boot protection from on the side frame? Ive only found the ones for 2012 gen2 onwards. ❤ I wanna see more. 👍

£2k for a big service!! Now if this is true no one would buy one. Taking the wiring harness out? Am I missing something? Soon as the lad said that I punch into google servicing costs and while still a lot more than dropping your own oil and being bike savvy to save money plus know your bike has been done and not just a box tick it was still in the same ball park as other rip off services £350 to £900 on a big 30'000 mile service. Can anyone shed light on the comment from the video?

Basically, he does not know what he’s talking about. Not one service on the ZZR1400 involves taking out the wiring harness! Shame they did not interview someone who actually knows about these bikes?
The main service is valve clearances at 26k miles. It ranges from £450-550, depending where you are in the country. I’m on my second one this week for customers!
