A shipwreck in that cove next to the old fishing site would look so sic
Absolutely. And it would make for some nice storytelling. Perhaps the shipwreck is what ultimately led to the creation of the lighthouse there right next to the cove
Yes
If he did the ship wreck at the edge of the cove it could act as a reef so he wouldn’t haven’t to have waves in there too
Or incorporate the new jaws set as a scene in the cove. Not sure if the scale would work though. Water looks really cool 😎
I agree you he could have like pirate skeletons in it
Ocean buoys would be a fun detail in the water.
The big question is IALA A or B
You should put lampposts alongside the boardwalk and maybe even put LEDs in them to light up the front of the lego city. Would be cool
Looks great! You should add the jaws set into your water setting!
Hear, hear
Yessss
Much better flow, style and communication of information in this video, good job!
If you put some sand around the cove, or put an island in there you could have a seal colony, or have a colony of sea birds.
This is a great idea! My thought is adding a sand bar at the tip of the cove that could span over to the lighthouse and in front a bit, creating a clear separation from the harbor water. Love the seal idea! Plus you get to recoup a few clear tiles!
Love the water! Love the look of the dark trans blue representing deeper water, and your transition was spot on. Keep up the good work!
I like the shipwreck suggestion for the cove, swimmers in the water and fishermen / fisherwomen standing on the rocks can add extra realism.
Could you add a little wooden boardwalk from the old fishing store into the cove so people could fish from it? Breaks up the shape and colours as well. And it adds storytelling. :-)
That water is coming together nicely! I do think the lighthouse should move over a little and connect to the cove. Would look a little cleaner.
Yes I agree. The breakwater and lighthouse will definitely have been considered together whichever was built last. As it is, the lighthouse feels like it was teleported there. Maybe not move the lighthouse but incorporate it into the breakwater.
Yeah I came to say this!
A path along the rocks to the lighthouse would be realistic. Nothing paved or crazy, just a time worn path
There's only one word for your waterfront: "WOW"!!!!
Can't wait to see your next developments
This is the content ive been waiting for. Lots of progress and detailing
Bricksie sporting the Medium Azure shirt for water detailing day
Water looks AMAZING!!
would move the lighthouse more to the cove and i agree that a shipwreck in that cove would be intresting for story telling. it can be used as a play object and treasure hunters can dive on the big cove.
I like the brown handrails. It’s great for contrast if it was grey it would just blend in and look bland.
You have to add the jaws boat. You got too.
For the cove on the far right, if you move it back a few studs, you could add a cool sandy area that’s 3-4 studs deep, it would look awesome and give hidden beach vibes. All the tourists go to the main beach but the locals know this hidden spot 😂. Also I second connecting the rocky cove to the lighthouse. It would look sick!
Loving the water, every time you pan over the deep sea and the light catches it, it looks just like the sun catch on the sea in real life. Looks awesome !!!
The ocean water is looking great! The dolfins are so cute😍😍😍😍😍😍
My boys and I love the water details, beautiful work Briksie 😍
You should add a statue of “den Lille havfrue” on the rock in the cove as a homage to Denmark, the birthplace of Lego!
This!
Water area looking spectacular. The bridge on boardwalk looking 1000 times better.
The ocean and "boardwalk" look SO GOOD!
I'm too poor to have a Lego city so I live my dream Lego life through you. I love it, keep up the good work!
I love the flex tube hand rail it gives it a little pop of colour
I feel like it would make more sense for the lighthouse to be moved a little to the right and be connected to the end of the cove
The water looks great. The darker blue transition really ties it together.
You could put a small fishing dock outside the fishing shack. That would allow you to have more stories in that area.
Hey bricksie what’s up! Just wanted to remind you that when you doubled the bank for the city you told us you had to use a different color for the window frames because you didn’t have the right color frame! I don’t remember entirely if that was the same case for your doubled hotel frames too. But I noticed it a while back and wanted to make sure I let you know for your next order! Not that it matters too much just wanted to make sure you knew. City looks great!
Wow! The water looks SOOO much better!
Dude!.... The water tiling looks like glass! Rock on brother
Very nice haul of pieces youve gotten 😊
Just a quick comment to show my appreciation! I love to see your updates - your videos bring some peace to my morning routines…. And makes me want to increase my small collection of legos movie vehicles! Ahah
Wow man, great build. Amazing. You should think about using some clear/white colored trans bricks up against the rocks and other non-beach type areas where the flow of the water brings it up against something, to show the waves crashing into the rocks, etc. Love how this is coming together!
The boutique hotel could charge higher rates if it were located ON the boardwalk.overlooking the improved water and not a road and train track. Move the track back a block to create a straight run over the canal toward the zoo. This solves the train elevation, boardwalk access, and S-curve track issues, while improving the waterfront view.
Wow! The water looks fantastic and I love the updated bridge. So good.
Wow that’s looking incredible!!
I feel as the water gets closer to the beach, the 2x2 clear slopes should go to 1x1 clear slopes...unless you are going for a very powerful ocean...but the water gets "less" as it gets closer to the beach...but do you!!! Just a thought 😊
Waves rise as they get to shore.
Fantastic progress today man! The water looks dope and the change to the bring with the hand rails was a great touch.
The yellow submarine set, modified to be half submerge, would look funny in the cove next to the old fishing store. Like it's coming out of nowhere with the Beatles stepping out of it.
Exhausting! Looks great. Whenever I see something large and repetitious like the boardwalk, I think of things that need to break it up, with colour, activity, or structures, so I bet you'll have some ideas for that as well.
The water is looking SO good! The city is really coming along in bounds. It's a testament to your imagination and hard work. Fantastic stuff.
Love the water effect its long process but it's worth it. I also like the tan hand rail. In your cove you could have a lego water sports area lole the inflatable water slides. Only a suggestion though x
Looks great! Very satisfying to see the water done after seeing the underlying plate for a while now.
Hi Bricksie.
The ocean looks absolutely MAGNIFICENT!! It's truly brought this part of the city to life, and with your other planned details in the future, it will be the best Lego ocean I have ever seen! Well done Bricksie.
Regards to Jose and the twins.
So good that you have the ceiling lights orientated in such a way that as you move your camera over the ocean it gives the effect of rippling waves. Gotta love it when a plan comes together
Just commenting for the algorithm. The rocks that you mentioned needing more detail might look even better with the dark gray on the bottom with lighter gray above to make it look like a water line and that the tide is dropping. The water is looking 🔥🔥🔥
That looks insane, what a result!
I like the focus and time lapse on one area of the city.
The water and the LEGO City is looking so good
Maybe you should move the ragity old house back to utilize more of the beach, maybe raise it up, you mentioned some elevation. But the beach does look small now beside a large body of water. Food for thought!
The ocean looks amazing bricksie great work!
Looks so good, I’ve been cleaning my sets today. I have a pirate island moc setup on my aquarium as an overflow cover, I used very similar water techniques and absolutely love the look of changing depths
Loving this new project and quite eager to see it grow and evolve
Absolutely love the water and the boardwalk. Can't wait for more detailing with minifigures and scenes.
I just hope the sea level does not rise too much though! ;-) (Coming from someone who lives well below sea level)
Great update! One small change I would make is adding more color to the light gray walkway. Maybe all the railing should be brown / dark - it’s just a big block of gray right now. Otherwise keep up good work!
The waters looking great. Love the transition from dark to light translucent tiles.. think a wooden jetty from the old fishing store in to the cove with the old timers fishing and passing the time of day would look fantastic.
When you build up the train curve elevation, you could add a cave at the small cove for some good story telling.
The water looks awesome . Suggestion: the 2x2 trans clear wave peace (6469803) from the Kingsfisher bird set (10331) would look super good in the water area. Would give you a more natural movement look.
Jordan is Looking like Heisenberg from Breaking Bad with those crystal blue bags of tiles 😂iconic
I was initially skeptical of the trans dark blue tiles but in the end they look really good and do tie in the deep water nicely. 👍
Love the water looks great!! Wasn’t a fan of the walk bridge but the flex tubing hand rails make it look 100 times better. Pulls it more together, looks great!! Keep up the good work!
The water looks amazing
I love what you did with the water so far. We call stone boardwalks here Promenades.
Esplanades here!
The waves are cool, but they would also benefit from being a bit varied height-wise. A couple bigger, taller waves may be interesting, as well as modifying the shapes a bit using different slopes, I'd be interested to see what you come up with
You should count those 15000 pieces to make sure they are all there.
It's much easier to weigh them...just get a precise scale ⚖️ .
@Picverse 😄
WOW! Love the ocean! 👍👍
Looking good so far, every update brings more life to the Lego city.
In my opinion, you should move the fishing shack by the road behind the beach, so that you’ll have more space for epic stories. If it stays in its current location, it may take away from some of the scenes you’re going to add. Also, it may be a good idea to move the beach modular buildings a couple of studs further. By doing that, you will get more space for the beach, the surface of which will be more proportional to what the new water occupies. Anyways, great job! Your city and new water details look awesome. Keep up the good work!
Everything looks awesome!
Could be cool to have a “Welcome to Bricksieville” sign in the corner by the cove!
You mentioned not having enough connections to the boardwalk. You've also mentioned extending the up and down grade on the train track but were worried about the raised track. Why not use that as an opportunity to do some pedestrian "underpasses" under the railroad bridge to connect the city sidewalks and the boardwalk?
that looks awesome! The way the beach and the water meet is really cool
The coves might look even better with a little more rock elevation. Looks great so far
You could put a yellow jumper plate with a minifigure head on top in the water- to represent minifigures submerged to their shoulders in the water!
Awesome water work- omgosh, looks amazing! Skillz 🤩
Love this new viewpoint for unboxing!!
looks amazing, I like the new bridge handrail too
It looks really great bricksie keep doing what you do great inspiration.
Hey, Amazing work on the city! Do you think you could make the bridge out with brown bricks instead of grey? It would look a bit different and would be nice to include a wooden bridge in the concrete path.
Nice going Bricksie, the color effect is quite nice.
I do think those dolphins are not placed right, where is the water splats of them jumping out of the water?
Also try out what happens to the looks, if you move the Lighthouse from the left cove rock work, to the right.
I think the rock formation will then look a bit more natural (in line of each other, like a dip in the rock formation is under water), so bonus.
Also, the harbor side of the cove, what if you add in a in build pier?
That way you go from natural rock to artificial harbor.
Do give the fishing store a way to actually have those fishing boats docked next to it.
And create a separate yacht harbor, so the free time boats are out of the work harbor.
The Fairy(?) Wheel boardwalk section is perfect for this.
Heck, it would give a extra reason for the boardwalk to exist, wouldn't you say?
But add trash bins to the boardwalk, together with some streetlights.
And consider a one stud round brick, between those arc bricks, for some extra detailing, Bricksie
As for walking from the street to the boardwalk, put a walkway besides the channel, under the bridges.
Remember the old horse drawn river boats?
No room for sails, thanks to the bridges.
So if you account for this, you could thus use a horse to pull a boat up the river, which in this day, would be a walking path along the river.
That or use that walk bridge from your Hogwarts Express, you should have two left, right?
Depending on how you alter the elevation of the rail tracks to the bridge, you might be able to turn that entire straight section, into a trainstation, able to house a full train.
As for the elevation & skatepark, what if you combine them?
Like all those ramps, build into said elevation?
Cut into the rocks?
Mmm, that witches house, get two of them, one for the castle table, one for besides the fishing shop.
If only the Blacksmith could be added as well, right?
Or a (small) castle.
As for the work harbor, like the crane pier setup, just needs a better crane top and a lift hook.
Can you replicate this setup for the other piers?
Then create enough room between this pier and the next one, for TWO expedition ships, side by side.
Can you find more of those hulls and the transfer sheets of those old cargo ships?
That way you can make your own, big freighter and if there is enough room along the pier (they need to be longer), you could show a cargo transfer from a ocean ship to a coastal ship.
A dock where only one such a big ship can lay in, add some doors and you have a dockyard of a shipyard.
Hi! New Lego builder here. I notice you do not ‘mils’ the water plates. Makes sense given the height (this way water is lower than land), but especially for water buildings it’s sad that we miss out on the sturdiness + they connect less solidly with other plates.
Do you recognize what I am saying? Any thoughts/alternatives you suggest?
I'll add that it is very cool seeing the process and gradual improvements, just really good stuff all around
Instead of the board walk bridge and train bridge could you do a pavilion/with a train stop? The pavilion could be for picnic tables to enjoy the river walk or maybe on Fri and Sat nights a band would play for those minifigures on date nights walking the boardwalk. also it would be great if the train stopped there for access to the board walk and beach. it you could do cross walks on the road bridge with stairs going down to each side of the canal.
Didnt know lego water could look so good, it's amazing
The water is looking amazing lots of space for boats! Have you considered a draw bridge for the train over the canal and eliminate the elevation needed for the tracks?
The only thing I'm not a fan of are the light blue 1x2 tiles mixed in with the dark blue ocean tiles along the outer edge. It breaks up the gradient too much. It should be solid dark blue aside from perhaps foam. Recreational beaches like the one you are creating tend have a nice gradual decline into the deep, so your gradient should reflect that. Edit: Your shore line along the beach looks fantastic as has a nice color gradient.
Loving how the water is shaping up. You might even have enough trans blue pieces to finish the rest of the water now. 😁
Wow this is awesome!! So many pieces 😊
that water looks amazing! if there is a way to connect minifig legs with the feet sticking up and wearing flippers that could be neat and a unique detail
I always wonder how the water will look when all the tiles are not in place, but you never disappoint . I love how it all comes together, it looks so awesome .
Loved the flow of this video! What about adding a short wooden pier extending off the beach into the cove for fishing?
Some lampposts would look nice on the boardwalk ☺️
the hand rail on the bridge with the tubing....might be a task but i'd do this along the whole walkway?
Maybe add a boat ramp? So there Is a place to load smaller boats
i have made this sugestion in the past but if u would hang a simple white sheet from the edge of the table just use some push pins to hold it into the wood it would hide the legs and give it a finished look and still give u easy access when u need to climb under
Magnificent! Wow! 😍
The water you have finished already looks beautiful 🙂
Love the handrail
