Thanks for the feedback. Yes it was really bad I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t start for a while. Put that new magneto and coil on and it started right up.

The part attached to the spark plug you were wondering about is a tool to check for spark. Whoever you bought the bike from was checking the bike for spark and forgot to remove the tool
