Poulenc had to write those interludes because in the first production at La Scala they needed more time to change the sets. They are not included in the standard score - have to be ordered from the publisher.
oh noooo this is lovely but I was hoping to find the prelude to tableau 4! unfortunately it is not part of this score. still lovely (absolutely chilling) to listen to! thanks for posting)
It's a pity. The first edition of the piano-vocal score was published before Poulenc added the interludes between scenes after the world premiere at La Scala (and made a few cuts). The later editions of the score include the interludes.
